Hidden Figures...ohhhh go and see it....and be PROUD to be a WOMAN with BRAINS!

I had a date with the man who makes me smile every day!
He said this to me when we were holding hands walking through
the market...
" The  sun waits for you to wake up- Sparky"
and you wonder why I am so in LOVE!

We started off with going to the Winter Market whereby we met Lord Nelson
and purchased his famous cold pressed olive oil and thick - sweet balsamic sauce
and his olives, don't let me tell you how wonderful they are....

But I have- haven't I? Told  you...:)
Well for supper, we also picked up some cold cuts and I will serve
it all with a baquette to dish into the olive oil and balsamic and
I have already cut some tomatoes and herbs for some bruschetta..

A terrific ending to a fabulous day...

We went to see Hidden Figures...OHHHHHHHH LORD
do yourself a favour, if you loved THE HELP, then you will love
these ladies in Hidden Figures.

It brought me to tears a few times - as these 3 ladies among many other
very intelligent women had to fight for everything....
They had a voice and they used it...
And we are all better for it!

And the lesson here was without them especially  Katherine Johnson
who was so well acted by no other than Taraji Henson...
was the Math WIZ who was able to equate the path
for John Glen to re-enter the atmosphere...SUCCESSFULLY!
( NASA would likely not be what it is today)
Yes I said it...the ladies RULED...

And Octavia Spencer from THE Help was Dorothy Vaughan
who was the Programmer Supervisor for IBM
at Nasa...
Janelle Monae played Mary Jackson who was
the very first female engineer at Nasa in the 60's.

Ohhh did I say this was based on a TRUE STORY....
that has never been told till now...

These ladies made me proud to be a Woman who in her own history
broke many barriers in an all male field. ( big Pharma) and ( Med-Surgical).
They reminded me of how brave and articulate they were and still are...

It made me proud to be on this planet at this time to see and hear of their amazing
accomplishments.

Surely we can move forward and come together again
and look for all the good that is still out there for every one of us.

This would make me HAPPIER!
As I am pretty Happy today...

I got a chance to spend yet another perfect day with the man
that rocks my world.

GOOOO see Hidden Figures...
I give it a 10+

reminder of our riot boys a year ago...
what a wonderful year we have had with them...

We missed them today, but they slept...
now they are ready to cuddle....

And I am off to make supper with my special Man!

A cruise to celebrate is a wonderful metaphor for a loving relationship...To many more for you both...and yes Hidden Figures stirs ones heart and mind...will always be one of my fav for 2017. It is one of those films you can watch over and over -like The Help. We are watching that is pm..

    1. Hello Mary Ann, I have an answer for that, it was simply the 60's. There were many things that were not right, and women especially had to step up..and these women did that and more...I am just pleased to hear and see their story now...It is never too late to say thank you for the courage! x

  10. You two and your love story...it is what fairytales are born out of you know. I love that you found your prince, and that he continually plays his part with such sweetness. It is very inspiring. I think the magic of it all is that you can see his efforts and feel his love in everyday moments. That is the secret *wink. I too am so deeply in love with an amazing man. You have taught me so much about creating moments. So glad I have a friend with such an intelligent mind and soul...lol. xx

  13. I love reading about other happy couples! We see so often all over the internet about unhappy ones that it becomes even more important when stories such as yours are shared.

Over 35+ years for me and my guy and our children often say we act like newly weds.
