You're such a doll!

Nothing is safe in our home these days...I had a starched linen skirt that I had not worn
for quite awhile , so I cut it up for material for some Raggy dolls...

I always do faces first, just like our Paper Ladies Patterns, the face
usually directs me to where next...colour of dress, hair....

I love the RED hair best, but Cori wanted some golden yellow so I made some up..
and then I messed up the green gingham doll so bad, but I did not want to redo, so I just made her
face round instead of oval...

Totally changes her, in fact each doll is a a one of a kind and no matter
how I try, same pattern in fact, the faces come out different...

I found a perfect solution to making her blouses...will share that
in the pattern with Cori...you will think it is pretty creative
and requires very little sewing... and it looks so darn cute!

( I have never seen anyone doing this)

And then for the skirt and waistband, well you will see...so darn easy!
We will make you into doll makers in no time!

Note all the pretty button accents, all of these come from

She has the largest variety and at wonderful prices and she always has
great sales...
love the apples buttons and candles....any reason to celebrate
doll making...

Did we say these are wee tiny things....9 inches tall and 6 inches when sitting...
it is almost too much CUTE for us to handle...
They are such DOLLS!

I hear that she has made 7 new heads, now she has  to make bodies...

I have 3 more waiting to be stitched up...
As far as the curly hair, I am just waiting for more supplies
to make a variety of colours...orange, purple, grey, white and of course red..

Will let you know when they are ready?
Gosh I can see a witch doll very soon, ORANGE Curlies, Purple Curlies...
yep, I need more supplies lol

  1. Oh my goodness. Look at all of these dollies! I have been trying to duplicate that one of yours too, and in the process her sisters are just as cute. It is funny how each one seems to take on a look and personality all her own. Just like you... that first little doll has inspired so many others each as cute as the next. It makes it hard to choose a favorite. That green one looks exactly like someone I know. Love her. I am so excited to get this pattern finished so we can see everyone else' take on this little sweetheart. That is one of my favorite parts about designing patterns. My thoughts exactly about the witch. Have to make one of those! We are so alike you and I...xx

  9. I'm loving these little dolls. I'm glad you mentioned their size. I think they would be really perfect to make for the shelters in the area to be given to little girls and even mothers when they come to stay. I'm looking forward to the pattern.

  13. That's the most awesome thing about a handmade doll. No two are alike. I prefer the red hair too but it's always fun to mix it up and go with blonde. I love your dolls, they are so sweet!
