It's not that I did not have anything to share.... from NAKED to Dressed!

it is just this week, had me spinning... from re-uniting with a dear friend, to designing banner, postcard and business card for a designer of Mammy dolls, to completing our October Paper lady, ( gosh she is a beaut) to finding a new crock pot,  mailing off birthday gifts to dear friends...to locating my maple tea, to working on a new ragdoll Ohhhh look at her....lol....it became FRIDAY.

all dressed now!  she is not blushing as much now, NOW that she is wearing clothes lol
rley blake's gingham! coming to life....

Loretta gifted me this beautiful t-cup!

So it began with last weekend heading out to see Loretta, a delightful friend I used to call on before I even went into big Pharma, I was in medical sales and she worked as a clinical educator for a Home of the Aged for Jewish Seniors. She is still nursing but now in a new hospital as an Infection Control nurse who has creativity and personality running through her veins. We stayed up till all hours reminiscing about years gone by and what had not changed was our admiration and love for one another. The weekend was extra special as part of her will live in my heart forever...We have known each other for almost 30 years.

I then received a call from Cheryl a creator of Mammy dolls, she is doing a big show soon and needed a huge banner designed for her booth and I designed her business cards and postcards as an added bonus...She was thrilled... No doubt she too will never be forgotten, I have know Cheryl for years way before the days of blogging we were in a doll group.

This is one of my Mammy Dolls Cheryl made me years ago...
 located my other Mammy

this is her postcard, can be used for notes, mailing, description of dolls
that she likes to add to each Mammy... She is making a New Mammy doll
in Grey Gingham...Cannot wait to show you that...
Her Banner she will be sharing when it is set up....it is stunnnnnnning!

Ohhhh our October Paper Lady was a delight to stitch-of course we seem to say that every month. But it is true, they are quick and easy to stitch and seeing Cori's in applique always excites me to the possibilities of these amazing ladies...Reminds me of the wonderful ladies who come across our path.
Will  be completing the  pattern writing this weekend...

Life is like a crock pot, filled with colour and flavours that bring COMFORT, more on this later, but I finally found the perfect size for just the 2 of us. I have my recipes ready and beginning this week, I will be serving up some comfort food to help us through our months ahead.

What I love about this one, it is the size of lasagna dish about 3 inches deep  ( 9 x13) a perfect size for a meal for 2 -3.  and it is RED..( ok, more on the burgundy size)
Stay tuned for some pretty amazing recipes that I perfected over the years, no more mushy meals...wink...

If you are not a Crock POT cooker...you may be after I share some pretty amazing recipes...

I love birthdays, I love celebrating friends and what impact they have on my life, so gifts have been made and sent out to 2 special ladies... This was one of the gifts I sent out...

Ahhhhh my maple tea, there is a maple black tea exclusive to Canada ( Canada True by Heart Industries)  that has me spinning and not because of the caffeine, but more because it is hard to find. I finally located a source so I won't be running out anytime soon.  It is a black tea with a very light MAPLE NATURAL flavouring that brings such comfort to my rather fussy palette. I love beginning my days with my hands embracing my cup and the new friends that come across my path, to you my dear lady, I raise my sweet cup...Hi, S. x

If you love to taste of CANADA, this is one flavour we are recognized for...subtle, smooth and filled with COMFORT...yep maple tea does it for ME!

Ahhhhhh and a new ragdoll ...Cori designed this wee thing ( check hers out, she is so darn cute cute cute) , so I just had to add a spin on working on one too...Here she is not clothed yet but as cute as can be even in her birthday suit... I will complete her today....Cori will be completing her pattern too. I hear she is working on a blonde one, I made her some curly hair because every friendship needs a redhead and a blond as a friend.  I just sewing her last night..today I will make her a cute one of a kind dress...lol. and yes I made her curly hair....I also made some yellow/blond this week!

she is only 6 inches tall sitting... she can drown in my cup above!

So that is my week... instead of being exhausted I am actually rejuvenated...Creativity seems to be flowing from my fingers, my mind, my soul. love when that happens...

Whose life did you ROCK this week. Many rocked mine, and I am so much better for it!

Now to take some pics. CREATE memories, it brings such warmth to your heart on those cool days!

p.s and you were worried I had forgotten YOU...NEVER....

Hi Charlotte...how nice to see you...now I am not sure many would go to the trouble or expense to make hair...it takes hours to make and someday I may do up a post...I used to purchase it years ago, * 10 years agao and even then a small baggie cost me $25.oo. today I am sure it would be nearly double that amount... Through trial and error, I figured it out, can't tell you how much I ruined.... so stay tuned....and yes October could be be wink...ahhhh nice to see your note...have a delicious weekend..

  11. Good morning Samm, and yes, I was wondering why we hadn't heard from you, and happy all is well. Good to hear your life is proceeding at it's normal speed of fast forward, as has ours, what with bridal showers, baby Baptism, weddings and birthdays, all accompanied with gifts I have been churning out at the speed of light. Well, not really that fast, because I could never keep up with you. lol
That little red headed rag doll is too cute for words and I remember very vividly, a Mammy doll I had as a young girl, that looked just like the one you posted, and when you turned her upside down, there was another doll underneath, sort of a reversible doll, or a 2 for 1. How I loved her, probably because she was soft and just the right size for a little girl.

That tea of your sounds soooo delicious. Maple is such a fabulous flavor, so who wouldn't love it!

I've also been working on Christmas gifts, but yesterday, my machine broke and will have to go in for surgery. Fortunately I have my 50 something year old Bernina to use while my Janome is being repaired. It will be like learning to use it all over again, since I haven't touched it in about 15 years.

Hugs to you all, including those handsome boys!

    1. Hi Sylvia....ahhh your beginning of fall seems to be a storm of activity too....I love this time of year but always find I have so much I want to do but cannot make time for. For instance I still want to strip and paint my telephone stand....and I will do that....but possibly not till after thanksgiving ( ours) I remember those dolls too...I did not have one, but one of my boarding sisters had one...she was beautiful....ohhhh and Maple tea, well it is just fine, so fine.....in fact I am ready to pour myself another before I make some blueberry lemon loaves....Ahhh Christmas gifts, don't even mention that lol. I have not even started that yet...oh my..... and a machine that is sick....hope it recovers....hugs my sweet friend...x
