You too would do it! Yellow Gingham FOREVER!

...you know make something so you would never forget those special
pets who brought years of joy to your life.

As I was thinking of a new GINGHAM ( RBD) ottoman,
I could not think of any other colour but YELLOW...
It represents the warmth that came into our lives when we first brought
T-cup and Sumatra into our HOME and HEARTS.

I also kept thinking when we had to let Sumatra go far too soon, that
despite the weeks of caring for her, "I would do it all over again".

And then just a few short months later we had to let T-cup go...
and then again the "I" became "WE"
"for you, we would do it all over again"..

Gosh this time last year, Sumo and Monchat were not even born
yet, we were not even thinking of more pets...

And then suddenly before we were prepared ( and by the way
you are never prepared, never)
 our lives changed....

David and T-cup were very close....it has been so hard for him..
My incredible macho guy, misses her dearly. I see tears in his eyes
when he tells me how working out every morning is just not the same
without T-cup joining him... She used to sit by the gym and watch him
till he was done...30 minutes every morning for years,
they had a morning DATE.
Funny thing for 2 weeks now , Sumo has been joining him every morning...
Somehow T-cup got a message to him to help him out a little...

I have noted how close they have become and that makes my heart smile!

Sumatra, well my sweet Sumatra, this day I shall never forget-
it was spring and I was sitting on the top step and she came over and just
looked at me and closed her eyes and just smiled...Glad that I was spending
time with her as she was enjoying the first of many days of warmth -she loved the garden...

I still miss her terribly... I really never thought I could love so much...

A big reason why I wanted to have something in our bedroom by the bed,
an ottoman that greets you from the door...a perfect stepping spot
for the Riot Boys as they join us every morning and night for play time...

And here we are a few months later and we have these RIOT BOYS...
total JOY, love, laughter and many smiles to erase many of the tears
that still stain our cheeks..

They were funny today, as I was finishing up the last of the stitches,
both of them wanted to try it out...

Of course being that they can be pretty dramatic, I asked them if they could
turn away as it they were filled with emotion!!!

Of course they obliged, they just kill me with laughter at times
they seem to know what I am saying....

Here is Sumo trying to find the perfect spot...his tail between his legs lol

And then Monchat wanted to play too....I am telling you they are so smart......lol

Presently, I am working on something else GINGHAM
a lilac piece actually...I sit here and view our home
and there is gingham everywhere, not too much
but accents of it....and HOME is a place where
we find warmth and comfort.....and GINGHAM somehow
brings me such comfort...
ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

My they have changed....they were only 3-4 months old
next week, Sumo will be 11 months and Monchat 10 months old..
feels like they have been here forever..

Do hope you are enjoying your SUMMER and
you are stitching your passion and bringing it to LIFE!

  12. Oh Samm, I read this with a heavy heart for we, too, have lost so many of our babies. But YES, they were worth every single thing. I'm a bit melancholy as we just buried a brother-in-law way too soon from cancer. I have to catch up on your posts. Was in New York. Love all the pics of the sweeties, here and the sweeties gone xoxo

  13. It is the most beautiful ottoman Samm, and such a beautiful reminder of your precious ones. They were the most loved pets, that is easy to see. You have so much love for these little ones. I love your example of opening your heart to the new guys despite the heartbreak of the girls. The riot boys are two of the luckiest cats in the world, and I hope they know that. x

    1. HI Cori....it is a nice ottoman, and precious it is ...means a whole lot to both of us...as we see it used everyday by the riot boys...also a wonderful reminder of the love that was in our lives for many years...they were such great girls..and funny having boys is so different..they just chased each other up and down the basement..broke 2 dishes and now are resting, while I clean up the mess...They always seem to be getting into mischief but also they seem to make us laugh more lol
