There were some expletive (s) shouted...did you hear me?

Hold back the cheers....lol , I  am  still waiting for the metal tack strips for the back...
It needs a back cover and more cording around the whole chair...
but so far, I am LIKING IT... but that was not the case a couple days ago :)

But certainly not after some shaky moments...

Some expletive(s) were said at this point ( perhaps more than one)
...I was taking my time, but I was too close to it..
So I stepped away and voila.....can you see it ?????

So I took it apart and used that backing fabric for a stool...LEMONS=LEMONADE~

Result of something going SOUR......

I ended up with a cute stool, best part it can slip underneath the chair
to be out of the way...and it matches....perfectly....lol
and now the chair is perfect....
back to 1st photo...do you see what I did?

Meanwhile...the riot boys could hear  me.... David was watching them
for their mini adventure in the garden...

YOU can see by their expression, their MAMA does not get upset too often wink..

Monchat my sweet seat warmer, was checking it out....have not been able to keep him off it..
So to be safe I already ScotchGuarded it.... I think he is still shocked at what his Mama had to say earlier wink....

To change the pace, I finally made a shade for my teapot lamp...
I won't bore you with how many times I tried different approaches
to this...suffice to say, keep it simple worked...

I chalked it and cut the fabric and sewed it all my hand except for the trim
which had to be glued....OHHHHH POOP, I burned my fingers lol..

Now the results is a pretty lamp on our mantle...and of course in gingham...
RBD to say the least....love gingham !  lol

And while putting away some fabric, I came across this pretty
adorable TOOL kit for all my Upholstery Tools..

And surprising enough everything fits and there is still more room
for more....lol...

Everything I will be needing...an electronic stapler, 2 manuals ones,
staple and tack remover, pliers, scissors 3 different pairs.
soft hammer, screwdriver, hand hammer...( very small handle)
glue gun, glue sticks, staples, regulator..( looks like a long awl)
gloves (yes gloves) blades, rotary cutter, cording....
oh I am sure there is a lot more in there as they are 20 pockets...
and an easy handle....

and I think they should call it a TOOL TOTE...
because it is just that a TOOL TOTE.

Of course you can call it the CRAFTERs tote.
but I prefer UPHOLSTERER TOOL KIT....

Ok, now I have to work on our JULY PAPER LADY...
ohhhhh she is a beaut...
This years collection will all be sitting down....

Wait and see....Cori is working on hers too..
in between finishing her Paper Ladies quilt with ruffles,
waiting for her fabric for her chair lol..

YOU KNOW...Stuff...

Cheerio....
That was everything right? lol

  1. Your chair looks fabulous Samm... and yes, I would have torn it off too...lol. That would have had me scratching my head every time I looked at it. Love the lemonade, now that is adorable! Upholstery definitely makes for a few choice words for me too, but the result is so worth it. Looks like I would be competing with Monchat for a tryout. The lamp is so perfect, love the shape of it. It was made for the mantle! xx

    1. HI Lj....ok, here was the problem, the pattern did not match...I had it straight, in second pic, but the colour was not the correct one that would match with seat...see it now....?
I could not see it till I walked away from it....now look at the 1st pic...see the pattern flows with back and seat....

  8. It turned out so well, Samm. I, too, would have needed to redo it as it would have bugged me every time I looked at it. The small tuffet is so sweet with it.

  11. An awesome finish Samm!! I did notice the chair back plaid didn't line up with the seat...that I saw right away, but I didn't notice the color difference. Being a perfectionist can cause some &@# words. I've spoken many....many times when I made my first Tammy bag!! Very stressed in Michigan and have used a few of those nasty words of late!!!! Xop.

  13. Love the chair. Knowing me I would have left the error and I would have had to leave the pillows in place or been ticked off every time I looked at the naked chair. You did the right thing. Definitely worth the additional effort.

It is very effective, and no one hears.
It is standard procedure over here :-P
The chair looks really pretty. Wow, that was a work out too getting it tight. Extra points for you!
The boys look so happy. The servants are on the job and not forgetting a thing.

  16. Another beautiful job Samm, and a lovely piece of furniture you will enjoy for many years to come. Your little matching footstool is the perfect companion piece as well. My hands hurt just thinking of all the hard work you put in on it, but definitely worth all the hours of pain and frustration. Now I can't wait till you begin work on the red velvet one, but I'm betting you will wait for awhile before you do. Hugs

    1. Hi Sylvia...how could I miss you....lol. and yes a matching stool. only because now the seat is much higher and my feet cannot reach the floor lol and yes the velvet one is the next, but only after I complete some stitchings for this years collection of Paper ladies..x

  24. I saw it and when I saw it I knew it had been changed before I even read anything. LOL Looks really nice. The little stool is too cute. Guess subconsciously you really wanted a little stool. But next time remember, you don't have to boo boo to have an excuse to make one. Cuteness is reason enough!:) Hello you simply adorable kitty boys. I want to kiss your little noses. be sure to forgive mama her little outburst. Happens to us all sometimes.
