Taking me for a RIDE!

Ok, borders are added and it is sandwiched and I'm ready to hand quilt it over the summer...
It may not appear large but let me tell you it is
70 inches square...or 177.8 centimetres

It is large and will be perfect for the winter months, I added 2 layers of quilt batting
this will be a duvet cover that is quilted...I then will make a goose down duvet
designed specifically designed for this large duvet cover....
so the back will be  added ( gingham of course) after all the hand quilting is done..
I will be adding buttons on the left side for the opening..

The hand quilting I will be doing is not a conventional one by any means..
as soon as I have done some that you can see, I will show you....

this needle turn applique was created by Cori for a special celebration
i could never ask for more!

So you are WELCOME anytime, as you can see, I am ready for
BERRY season, berries are not even up around here...a few more weeks
and I will be freezing some and making some berry toppings...

By the way David has only one more weekend before he heads
out to the Ride to Conquer Cancer...
2 very long days of cycling 100 km per day...
I will be there cheering him on like I did last year..
This was him returning from the finished line where I parked to retrieve him...
I was so proud of him!

I am most certain his ongoing battle with cancer is that he has goals
and he works towards them so he can stick around a little while longer..
And that is fine by me....so I am full of gratitude that you are
helping him to stay !

I get so emotional when I think of my life without him
so I am not going there...I will enjoy every moment
he gives me....

I have a few errands to run today...so cheerio..

  10. You are the only one who can do that quilt justice... and I know first hand. *wink The border is the perfect size, and this one will be so beautiful. That I know. I had to buy some strawberries today to make up some of that summery dessert you posted a while ago, and it was divine. Wish I could share a piece with you and David... because after all that cycling to prepare, he has definitely earned a piece! All my love to you both as you conquer another year together. I remember that picture from last year.... I think he really loves you or something. That smile says it all. xx

    1. HI Cori, it is so cool today, so odd too, like a fall morning, we could certainly benefit from some snuggling under it ...so I will be working on it today.. and yes the border size makes it look like a photo for sure...a huge black mat secures it all together... and the truffle dessert....I too picked up strawberries too - but I will be making some small custard pies with berries topping them....David will need some fuel this weekend, as he will be doing
another trial before next weeks ride...and yes I will never forget the emotions of last year....he is my hero....and I do think he loves me lol....
