Manic about RBD GINGHAM! a New Tammy....

I finished her in the early afternoon yesterday...
now she is a perfect addition to my stitching setting...
I chose the 1 inch gingham from RBD and it really is a beaut..
I hand quilted the Lady.....now the weekend has begun
for us, so I will be staining our deck this weekend
if weather permits...

So no more stitching till Monday...
have a delightful weekend...

I suppose I have quite a mania when it comes to GINGHAM, especially Riley Blakes Gingham...it is not that I don't like designer prints but I seem to be drawn to everything GINGHAM....

Take a look at the projects I have been working on this week....This t-cup lamp has had many personalities, but I finally settled on this...NO WAIT, this is just the look for this week....Instead of constantly repainting and stripping the colour...I purchased 4 shades, I am going to make different shades and when I am tired of that, well I will just change it....so I am working on this one at the moment, I  like the ruffled skirt on it..makes it look rather feminine.... your thoughts? lol

So if you are wondering "what is she up to" these are my projects....?

#2 , Cori sent me this delightful applique for what I was thinking a neck pillow, called Soap Opera from our Paper Ladies collection, I already stitched mine onto a pillowcase, but when I saw her appliqued one, I swooned...so she sent me one and all I had to do is the embroidery which I completed last evening...now I changed my mine and will be making a NEW TAMMY BAG with this large red gingham that I found in my stash, RBD does not make this 1 inch square anymore, so I thought in honour of a gingham that has come and gone, I will making it into a Bag that I will have by my stitching station...

And what do you know? she is wearing a gingham print....Cori's applique is just PERFECTION!

I am going to do that today.....make a new RED Gingham Tammy Bag....YEAH....I don't seem to have enough Tammy Bags it seems, because I keep making them...How many do I have....? I am taking the 5th on that one....wink..

#3 My Beautiful Yellow Gingham Ottoman. I quilted the top, added double batting and hand sewed it onto the batting and foam....I still have to quilt the embroidery, so I may tackle this tomorrow... it is quite large and certainly the riot boys have found it comforting a few times already....

And I possibly would get so much more done if not for the play time our Boys require from me daily...and they bring me to tears so often in their antics.....take this morning....

Sumo in his prayer hands, play with me PLEASE....... he is such a sweetie in the mornings...
he waits till Monchat is resting and then seeks me out for  some one on one time...

Funny thing, when we just had Sumo, we were a unit, when Monchat came along
a month later, they were a unit....I thought, I would not have that one on one anymore
but you know every day, both of them seek me out and want to spend at least an hour
cuddling, playing or just sleeping by my side....At the moment, Monchat
is right beside me purring away, while I get this post up...

Sumo had his time this am...he is now resting upstairs on the tower...

When Monchat heard Sumo and I playing, he came in to investigate..
Sumo's looks says it all...

So Monchat went to lay down and patiently wait his turn....

They bring me to tears as I was not sure if it was possible to love anyone
like I loved Sumatra and T-cup...and somehow my heart is large enough
for them too....LOVE is a funny thing you know...the more you pour
into it the more you get out of it....

Lesson for us who have loved and lossed,
there are loving moments still ahead...

Off to have some breakfast and prepare for my
RBD Gingham DAY!

ps. I wish there was  a GINGHAM store somewhere...
everything made would be GINGHAM!

  1. Great idea to have many shades Samm. This one is looking good. I bet the boys love the yellow footstool. Oh-Sumo just texted me-can you get a blue gingham to match his eyes?

    2. ahh, super cute! a woman after my own heart. I painted my house off white, so that I could change the accessories when my heart told me it was time to change the colors. Painting is not my thing! Those little ladies are super sexy, would look great on an apron, dish towel topper *she doesn't do dishes!, Cute hat (haven't figured that one out yet) but I bet you could.. hugs!

  2. Love seeing your projects, Samm. They are so fresh and funky!
The boys are, as usual, hysterical and adorable!
I hear you about love. Last night I had a dream about Tigger, my beloved, who's been gone since 2003. We had such a wonderful "visit". They are in my heart forever, but as you said there is so much more to give. Not sure if Tigger would approve though. :) He was so addicted to me!

  3. I opened my Bloglovin blogs to read list and my eye only caught the word "gingham" and I knew immediately it was your post only by seeing tha word. It couln't be anyone elses. Isn't that fun? A week ago I never heard about that word and Google translate translated it as "gingham", but now I know what it means LoL.
What a wonderfull story about the boys and an adorable picture of Sumo with his paws praying you for playtime. So sweet Monchot waited patiently for his turn to play.
I had two cats who were with me for resp. 18 and 20 years. They both passed away and now we have Midas for almost 3 years and I love him so much. I know what you mean and I think you love each one in a different way so there is love enough. Greets, Nienke

    1. Oh Nienke, you make me smile....I guess many think the same at times...even I don't know anyone who loves gingham more than I....I never get tired of it... and the boys are such fine examples for me every day, they are great teachers and you would know that...I think some times they are misunderstood...there is plenty of love in our hearts when we love more ....

  5. Hi Samm...Wouldn't you be the perfect proprietress of Madame Samm's Elegant Gingham Boutique? It would be the ideal online business venture for you, the first of it's kind. lol Your beautiful boys are growing so fast, especially Monchat, who is already looking more and more like the Ragdoll cat he is. Sumo will always be a beautiful kitten, even if he doesn't grow to be a full sized ragdoll because of his heart condition. I just love seeing them and listening to how much love you shower them with. They couldn't possibly have been given a better home than with you and David. Hugs and love to you all. ~no mail yet~

    1. I thought so Sylvia...a gingham boutique..the only problem with setting it all up, I would never have time to sew for me anymore..I did think about it...this stage of my life I just want to sew with no time restraints lol. and yes they are beginning to look like ragdolls, but it is not till the 3rd year do you really notice those changes, bigger bodies, darker colours, long coats.. When I look back at photos of Sumatra, I can hardly believe how big she was...and she was a girl at 19 pounds...the boys at least Monchat will be way over that...and Sumo, well I will be happy to have him smaller if it means he will be with us a wee longer... tracked mail for you...
