Back to painting AGAIN! ( and riot boys update)

Last year I picked this wee cup and saucer at an auction and got my paint and started spraying...
then I reached for my RBD gingham and made this wee lamp...

Since then I then painted it RED with RED gingham shade....
and on the weekend, as spring always means SPRING CLEANING
and FRESHENING up, I removed the 4 layers of paint...
and redid it in white with a smaller Gingham , it looked so plain, I then
added some antique lace and bows....
but you know something, I don't like it...
it is cute, but I am not looking for CUTE lol

I think I am going to do it black once again and redo the lamp shade in larger
RBD gingham....Yep....

I won't even tell you how much this $5.00 find has cost me in
time and PAINT....nope won't tell you because I am not done YET....
Sometimes you just cannot mess with your first CREATIVE THOUGHT...!

Meanwhile I have also been busy with  my riot boys...

The weekend was cool, but the boys really wanted to venture out as David
was cleaning all the windows...

I still cannot get over how big MONCHAT is getting, again he is only 1/2 of the size
that he will be....He also has such a different look outside
versus inside....

He is FIERCE outside...inside he is the most loveable kitten...
in fact he is by my arm as I type this and he is purring about....
He makes me laugh as he has so many layers to his personality....

Now SUMO, well he is tender sweet outside....here he was trying to catch a bug....
his expressions just melt my heart....he is not to brave outside, he sticks quite
close to me....and inside, well he has this thing about getting in between the loungers
and the pillow back...he squeezes in there and I am sure is comforted by the support
it gives him....he sleeps a lot more these days...
We had only one episode this week, which is good, so we have come to embrace
all of his good days..

I have made a couple calls to our VET, who is so darn sweet, I delivered a hot apple
pie right out of the oven this morning to thank him for always taking my calls...

He reassures me when I think Sumo is not doing well....He is much smaller now
than Monchat and that is fine...he will keep growing, he likely won't be as big
that is all...And we can handle that...he looks to us...more kitten like.....
Monchat well FIERCE lol

Again they are reminders to enjoy every moment....
and we do....in fact I am going to take my wee lamp
and re-do it one more time.....

Will show the result when I am done..
it will likely look like it did before I redid it 3 X

  1. Do-Overs seem to be in the air....lol. I can't tell you how many times I have torn this quilt I am working on apart and put it back together. Way too much time and "ideas" spent on it, but I will get it eventually. Now your lamp, I think I like the black too....and your boys, so full of personality aren't they. I love to see their pictures. Lucky vet...your pies are the BEST!! Now... back to sewing. xx

  3. So, so, so sweet these boys!!! And I can tell you: we had two cats - sister and brother. He was really tall - maybe not as tall as Monchat will be, but his sister always looked like a 9-month kitten at all. *lol*
And you are so lucky to have such a nice vet and so lovely cats. :D

  4. I love the paint creativity! Very cute and snazzy. I like to repaint stuff, and when you can, just paint right over it. So fun Layers are good!!

Sumo is adorable, he reminds me so much of my Pierro.
Pierro only weighs 7 pounds. They are just sweet little kitten boys.
I love your puddin's they are so handsome.
It is really really good to have a good vet.

    1. Now I would have done that but it started to show to make marks... I wanted it smooth so I took all the paint off again..the stickers left impressions...
and Pierro is smaller than both the boys now...he is kitten like then, next to these guys.. Monchat though is very long...and very solid..

  11. Have missed checking in, soooo much yard work. Caught up as best I could. My heart aches each time I see sweet Sumo. I so wish something could be done for him. Monchat does look fierce outside. :) King of his domain. Never would have thought that fluffy ball of fur you brought home would look so regal. Have fun with your re-dos. Doesn't matter how many times you change your mind, sometimes you just gotta see it to know if it is right. Take care. Hugs

  12. Never thought it was possible to paint a lampshade. Or did I missunderstand. I love the pimped version with the lace border and yes a red version will be very lovely. But I am prejudiced because I love red.
Monchat really had grown, you hardly recognizes the little kitten from november last year. And he will be even bigger! Cuddles for Sumo. Greets, Nienke

    1. Hi Nienke, the paint is on the teacup base...it was black then red then white..now back to black...the lampshade is done with material..although you can paint them too..I prefer fabric and yes like red too ....and it is hard to believe Monchat was a kitten in January...he was so small..now every day bigger .... cuddles for Sumo...he is such a dear..
