Good news for Sumo & those who love him...

I stayed behind as we got a call from our Vet and Sumo was able
to get into surgery this morning....I took Monchat with us which helped
to calm Sumo....

By the time we got home a call from our sweet Vet
- Sumo pulled through with flying colours..
He is going to keep him for the day to be sure he has no
adverse reaction....but he did well...

If he can get through this, he has a good chance of
a good life..

Update...Monchat and I  picked him up, he did not want to eat at the Vets, but we were
not in the house 10 minutes and he was whining....he had not eaten since yesterday
at 6 pm, it is around 5:30 pm now...
He ate half a can and wanted more...but we will wait a bit to see if
that stays down....Monchat and Sumo have been stuck by each side
playing and running up and down the hallway...
JOY is back in our home...

We will take any time we have with him, so the stress is lifted from us for now...

This was yesterday, I was telling him, he needs to be positive about his surgery...
If he could talk he probably would say this or something like that...

I will be heading up North tomorrow to be with family, we have
a long list of events.... Sumo and Monchat will be secluded from all activity...
They are not use to noise...they will be fine...they have each other..

So thank you all for your prayers....
They certainly helped....
I can now breath again, in and out, I have to practice more of that..
 wink...

See you next week!
Happy EASTER ...

Really, I did not want to make the first bunny, and then another...
Gosh, this is ridiculous, I have packing to do, places to be
and here I am making more bunnies...

Did you see you how many Cori made?
Really this has got to stop here....lol

So this is my last bunny...there will be no more....

Ok, so I have  been busy this week,   I would have posted much
sooner than this.... BUT Cori, made this bunny you see...
HERE!  absolutely adorable if I must say! lol

And she asked if I was going to make one too! I had not thought of it, in fact I was not
even sure if I wanted to make one...BUT I am always up for a challenge...

So YO-bunny came to be..... and she is made from
so elated they decided to keep gingham HOPPING

This was my very first BUNNY I have ever designed...

and mine just had to have pearls and a fuzzy nose and gingham bows....

This is the back of her...YO-bunny stands up on her own with her pretty dress all laced
up on the back...I almost entertained taking her head off and putting her on the back..
But time considering, decided to leave her as is....

She is being packed and will be hopping to her  new home, wink!...

Meanwhile....

The Riot Boys needed some of my time this week...
Sumo was released to us without ever being neutered -
apparently from our breeder's confirmation -first time she ever did this...

So after 3 visits with VETS we settled on 4th VET
who finally agreed to look after Sumo because of his heart
murmur, which turns out to be a HOLE IN HIS HEART
that requires much TLC and blood work to confirm
he is at high risk of Cardiac Disease.

( no other vet would touch him)

He will not have a long life and more than likely
would have died on the table as a kitten had he been neutered.

The good news for our wee fellow, is he has a home in our hearts-
after costly visits and examinations we are doing everything
to keep him around for at least a couple years...

He will be neutered this Thursday morning, ( I am staying back
while David heads out, we will join him once Sumo is discharged)
our vet received assistance of an anesthetist who works with high
risks pets like Sumo. Our vet will have lots of professional
advice to proceed with extreme caution.

WE keep reminding ourselves that Sumo does not know
he has a short life, so he teaches us something every day...

LIVE EACH MOMENT to the fullest...
ENJOY every moment, LOVE every moment...

So we will follow his lead and make the best of a very sad
situation and LOVE every MOMENT ....

Together as FAMILY!

Here is he is trying to imitate a Bunny, Monchat was not terribly impressed..
Again these Riot Boys bring us back to reality that life for at least them
is a constant RIOT....

I was teasing them, and said- "look a bunny" .....they were not convinced at all....

They then went on duty for a couple of hours actually, sitting in the window
waiting for that BUNNY to appear....

Monchat who is a month behind Sumo is keeping up with his older
brother, they are still about 1 pound difference but in size almost the same.
they are from tail to head, almost  26     I meant to say 36 inches already...

You know peeps, we have learned so much through our sweet Riot Boys....

You cannot change things that have happened to you, but you
can adapt, forgive and move on....We are certainly trying to do that...

Easter is around the corner and we will be with family
and we will be reminded of all the sacrifices that were made for us all..

"There are miracles every day" - we just have to have some FAITH!

Happy Easter from
our Riot Boys
and from our hearts to yours..

  1. What a lovely bunny you designed, I immediately saw her pearl necklace. She is a real lady bunny!
Such a sad news about Sumo, I hoped for you it was better than this. But I am convinced he couln't have a more loving and caring home than with you, David en Monchat. Cuttle him every day and enjoy all the days together. Wishing you strength, Nienke

  6. Hi Samm, We had "twins" Maggie May and Emily- Persian mixes. We didn't know it at the time of their birth but Emily had a fatal kidney disease and we only had her 4 years. Maggie lived to be 15. Our hearts were broken when Emily died but for 4 years she was pure joy! I still miss her but I wouldn't trade those years for anything. You are so right. Love them now with all our hearts.
I'm so sorry to hear this though :(

    1. HI Sue, we would not trade Sumo for anything....we feel the same, always sad to lose a mate and in your case one of the twins before their time. If we did not know differently no one would ever know he has a hole in his heart...The way we look at it is we are prepared for the worst and should he last past his expire date, it would be bonus for us...We always enjoy every day as if it were their last...brings such warmth to our hearts these boys.

Sumo and Monchat were secluded away in the North end, so they had each other without all the excitement of so many hands on them...I think they would be in terrible shape had we allowed that lol...Sumo, was a bit sore for a day, so we have been watching him closely as he is still on the mend...but at least he is still here...x

  32. After a long absence from the blogging world, my first day back I caught a glimpse on Easter Sunday of a cute fuzzy nosed bunny created from the marvelously creative hands of my Dear Samm! I do love you and have missed you and your blog tremendously. Your Christmas Card was lovely and so welcomed. I can't wait to catch up with all your ups and downs and share with you many of mine but for today I will simply pray for you and David on this Glorious Easter Sunday night. Sleep well, may you wake up refreshed and grateful for another day. Lately I've become focused on the brevity of life and the importance of telling people you love them while they are still here. Blessings, Gmama Jane
