Working on a new stool.....sketch first- then embroidery and quilt!

How nice to be home and back to our routine, every holiday has all planning so much  and weeks ahead for a few days  of festivities ....but oh so worth it to be with family....But like every momentous event, it has you thinking.....I did a lot of thinking....

Here we are at the end of March...where did the last 3 months go..?.The welcoming of our Riot Boys makes every day spin with delight....we have loved every moment. Now that Sumo's surgery is behind us, he is doing really well, he was a bit sore for a couple days, kept turning his butt to us, "look at my bo-bo" or something like that...

Here he is resting before we left to meet the family...He was happy to be under wraps lol..
He just came home after his surgery...

Needless to say, they are so pleased to be home. It is hard to believe the boys have only been with us for 3-4 months....They have managed to bury deep into our hearts already. The kids were sad to hear T-cup was no longer here, but we all agreed, we shall never forget her or Sumatra. So much has changed in a couple of seasons...

So what was I thinking.... ? Well our dear Mary made this stool, and although I just loved hers to bits... I am not into scrap colours..you know a whole bunch of colours in a quilt...I am rather a classic lover...like simple designs, simple colours and something that will have me enjoying a creative sewing project for years.... but Mary so inspired me.....

these stools need some foam, so I had some made ....

So this is what I will be designing and working on ( above) ....already started all the embroidery work...I have said it over and over again, but it is also worth a reminder.... ( I am doing this twice around my stool- the embroidery...) I will then quilt it too... and of course this one will be in RED gingham from RBD....

"for you, we would do it all over again"... David and I both agreed, this would be a lovely reminder of our T-cup and Sumatra....although really, it could signify family, friendships too, almost anything...but for us, it will be a reminder of our sweet pets that have gone on ahead of us...

Will share more soon on where all the foam, feet, pattern came from....next week I suppose..Working with the Original Designer of this pattern..... Working with some companies to get everything you need for a very good $$ too.

Meanwhile....David stayed behind to close up everything, and this afternoon, we heard some commotion...Rather Sumo did.....

Look at his expression..." I think I saw my Parent Keeper?" or something like that....
David was filling the bird feeders and did not realize I was up...

Monchat came from nowhere and both hopped on the brace that keeps them from slipping
outside through the kitty door....Monchat on the left looks bigger, in actual fact, they are almost
the same size...but Sumo's is still a little sensitive, so he was not stretching like Monchat was...

They were so happy to see David...you think it was weeks...instead of hours..
Again hard to believe how much we love them and they love us...

Reminder how small Sumo was when he was only 3 months old.....
He was just a handful.....Again, these riot boys are still kittens..
they are now about 1/2 the size of what they will be.....

I found Monchat on the bed....all tuckered out...I think they are coming to realize already..there is no place like home.....

So---- I would like to share even more stitching I have been working on, but here it is already suppertime, time to prepare some fixings....

Glad to be home...Hope your Easter was wonderful...

    1. You know Cori, if I did not take so many photos each day, I don't think I would remember how small they were or how much they change each week. Just this past week, they look so "young boys" looking...like they left their tot stage already....They are now the size of domestic cats...they have so much more growing to do...another 10-12 pounds each....
and yes home sweet home and plans of a new stool, just makes home a lovelier place to be...x

  8. Glad to hear you all made it home safe and sound. I for one can't believe how big the "Riot Boys" have gotten. I have never had a kitten. We always adopted young adults, so they were already at their adult size. Your design for your new stool looks very interesting. Can't wait to see it done.
