Their first day out.....Riot Boys and Sally Field can make me smile....

Our hearts are certainly broken, there is no mistaken, our home
is missing both T-cup and Sumatra....
and yet we have  OUR RIOT BOYS who need us too...

So we took them outside, they had never seen snow or our backyard for that matter...
They were like 2 young boys cut loose into a SPORTS ARENA...
So much to hop over, pounce on, walk on, chase....
They certainly brought some smiles...
LOOK at their WIDE EYES expression?
We half expected T-cup would be showing them the ropes this Spring,
however we think she was around enjoying their outing as much as we..

WE all have felt her presence...

They did not want to walk in the middle of the yard as the grass was squishy under
the pads of their feet.  Monchat was balancing on the edge of our garden frame...
Sumo, was walking the edge as the ground was still frozen...

They kept looking for us... " LIKE WOW, this is COOL, can we stay out ? "
or something like that...

I love this photo of Sumo walking on the deck, first time on snow...
his head was close to the ground, being very cautious as he moved slowly to the edge...

Monchat on the ground enjoying the view... They are looking like an average size cat
now, they are 5 and 6 months old now....but they are only 1/3 of the size they will be...
Ragdolls  only reach their overall weight and length when they are 3 years old...

Their weight at the moment is between 7 and 8 pounds....In a couple more years they
will be near 20 pounds...( each)

This was a nice photo as David was sitting on the step...Sumo kept coming back
not to sure all this excitement could be taken in at once.....

It is hard not to smile when you see such surprise and excitement in our riot boys
wonderful 1st adventure...they slept well all night!

It was a perfect day to remind us all, there is sunshine still to come,
adventure to still explore and much love to be felt and given...

Life continues....

Thank you all for reminding us of that, it is the cycle of life...
Many of us will experience a loss in our lifetime...
And  when we do we it is a reminder we will be able to carry on....

LOVE does continue too....

and something that is coming that I know will bring many smiles....

  1. You picked a perfect day to introduce them to the "wild". They look so curious-not an ounce of fear. A wonderful start to spring- the season of renewal. Hugs.

  3. I love your example Samm. It is incredible to watch as you focus on the simple pleasures in life to heal. Watching your boys experience this "new place" was just the thing to bring a smile to your hearts after the heart wrenching loss of your sweet girl. It is the simplest of things that bring the most healing... a simple smile, an arm around your shoulder, a kiss on the cheek, his hand on yours, to make you realize you are not alone... those are the things that bring the sweetest of joys to our hearts. You continue to teach me daily of how to BE happy. You are just incredible sweet lady. All of my love to you and your David now and always as you take these first steps in a new chapter. xxx

P.S. Can't wait to see this movie. It looks like a funny one.

    1. Yes Cori....the movie is coming to USA this weekend, but I still cannot locate it here in Canada...but it looks like the best formula for a couple of hours of giggles. We just love Sally here...and she is 70.....wow!...and the happiness does come from just BEING present...xxx

  7. They're so adorable! I am sorry to hear about T-Cup. She was a precious fur baby. I don't know how you keep the boys from running off. We have indoor cats because we aren't sure how they would be going outside. One of them we know would always stick around and come home but not so sure about the other ones. We rescued four recently so it's a full house. xx.

    1. Ohhh Kim, we could never leave them out by themselves....we have hawks and eagles and owls everywhere....they will only ever go out if we are both out there with them....
our yard is fenced in too so that helps....once all the bushes are grown, they will feel quite protected....and 4 cats....yes that is a full house...xx

  8. Riot Boys were being cautious because T-Cup is watching over them and keeping them safe. I LOVE Sally Field. The circle of life is what keeps us all going. Blessings Dear...

  9. Samm, No matter how much our hearts break they manage to open up to the love of new babies, don't you think? I've been thinking of you so much and thinking about how sweet Miss Tea Cup was meeting my precious girls and boys who have left us. Thank you for sharing the lovely photos of that sweet girl.
And I loved seeing the boys today!! Fun for sure :)

So true Sue, there has to be a place where they all meet up, where there is no pain, and they play till we meet again...it just has to be....Our boys are livelier today and I think it is because we are really trying to be less sad....they so mirror us....each day will be easier....x and Sally one of my fav ladies.

    1. HI Debbie, it has been rough however with the boys it helps to pour our love into them...
it does not change anything except that if we never lose anything we love, we don't appreciate what we have.... the cycle continues and like we keep saying, we would do it all over again....all 16 years was so worth it....x

  15. I'm not sure I've seen a 20 lb. cat! My Sugarplum is 12 lbs. and is the biggest cat I've ever had!
How funny that the cover shot of Sally Field looks so similar to your old profile with the coffee cup! (You were not so cartoonish!) I will be looking forward to the movie!

    1. Sumatra was 19 pounds...and she was so large...T-cup in her prime was 18 pounds....she kept losing these past couple of years from age.... So Sugarplum at 12 pounds for a domestic is a pretty big cat....Ragdolls are just big....

  16. What a lovely pictures, the first time outside is so exciting there is so much to discover and explore. Maybe they think now that snow is a normal phenomenon because they don't know otherwise.
While watching the pictures of the boys the song "Our house is a very very very fine house, with two cats in the yard" (Crosby Stills Nash & Young) went trough my head. Greets, Nienke

    1. ohhh I think of that song a lot lately....and yes our boys never having experienced snow were "what is this" they were so funny....I dare not take them out unless David is home though, they will have to be socialized slowly over the summer....they will never be out there without us...

  17. What fun, their first outside adventure. Wow they will be big boys!!! 20lbs will certainly be a lapful to cuddle. Love how the snow background makes their fur look so beautiful and those eyes so full of "what's next?"

    1. Already they are heavy on our laps....when Sumatra used to sit on my lap it was very short term, she eventually settled with having her head on my arm or lap....even that was heavy...the boys will be bigger than her.
