Pay Attention to the signs.....especially if they come from this lady...

She will be 70 on Nov 6th of this year...
No work done at all and she still looks YOUNG.
She has this JOY in her that just makes you smile.

Funny thing about staying connected with our world...
There will always be a  SIGN that will make you stop and take notice and you will LAUGH!

Sally Field makes me laugh, cause she can so easily laugh at herself...

I have been checking everywhere to see where this movie will be shown,
but it looks like it may only be in selected cinemas....

We may have to wait till it comes out on itunes .....
Is it me, or are we seeing less NEW MOVIES coming out to our local theatres...?

I wanted to see Danish Girl, and The Dressmaker and now Hello, My name is Doris
will be added to my list... None of these ever made it to our local theatres...

In the meantime, I will keep these photos close to my heart
and wait for Sally to come to our home theatre in the weeks
or months ahead...

I love this message "it's never too late to start fresh"
Again messages out there that seem to find us and remind us it is not the end...
but a new beginning to experience more....

More JOY, more ADVENTURE, more LIFE...

Don't get caught up in the Chaos of the world,
stay away from people who do not bring out the best in you....
There are so many decent people out there...
IF YOU ARE ONE OF THEM, YOU WILL FIND MORE....

just remember...

And as only Sally could shout...."YOU got to LOVE YOURSELF.

HAPPY PEOPLE bring out the BEST in PEOPLE....
They do not shout, swear or threaten you...

IN FACT HAPPY PEOPLE are those you can count on to LIFT YOU UP,
Cheer for you, bring out the HAPPY IN YOU....
They love themselves so it is so easy for them to love others...

 Some tidbit about Doris/Sally
They went to many second hand shops to find her wardrobe...her hair she said
was copied from old pics of Brigitte Bardot....I love it...
It may very well be a new fashion statement....I wear many minky headbands..
I think I will add a few bows to them ...lol

You know Sally Field as Doris makes you want to look forward to aging...
FREE from Botox, Free from Facelifts....
I think of Barbara Walters, Priscilla Presley...and many others that make you shriek
when you see them.....instead of looking YOUNG they look SCARY...
There is nothing scary about Sally....
There is nothing scary about Helen Mirren...
There is nothing scary about Diane Keaton......
and there is certainly nothing scary about
DORIS.....

unless of course you are a DORIS and you don't look like SALLY ...
( being funny of course)

I know many Doris who are BEAUTIFUL!

So today, let's stand up and shout....
WE need more DORIS and Sally Fields in our lives...
WE need more reasons to laugh at ourselves...
We need more reasons to keep getting through one more day....

Thanks Sally for the reminder....

I gotta get me a pair of her glasses lol

P.s I did ...I purchased a couple today..they are on their way..
one for inside and a pair of sunglasses...
wink..

and I have been sewing, and stitching just not ready to show anything just yet wink...
except for this Daisy for our RED DOOR!

I made this yesterday....I even will share the tutorial if you like...
will write it up tomorrow...
so simple....too!

  1. Loved this post. So true. Oh those ladies that go under the knife...they scar me .... I always think why?... Surely maturing is just the natural passage of life..I think so anyway..must look out for the film.

  4. I have not heard of this movie. We have a ton, well at least 15 theaters in this area. Probably because South Bend is a college town with other smaller colleges in small towns near by. We get almost every movie, even if they only play a week or share the day with another movie. I am now on a quest to find out about Hi, My Name Is Doris.

  6. My friend was just lamenting the work that Dolly Parton has done on her face. She said that Dolly was such a beautiful woman in earlier years. Too bad that those that get work done actually look worse and so very false/fake. I don't even colour my hair. REAL is beautiful and I have loved Sally Field ever since Gidget.

    1. Ohhh I forgot to add her to the list...I recently saw an update on her...again so scary looking, she was always such a fine looking lady.....now colouring of hair....if you have great colourist, it does look good...I went all grey a few years ago, but my coloring is so pale, I looked like the walking dead...so I still colour but it is a very soft colour and I have a grey streak..that is natural lol

  16. I am very thankful for the way God made me and never feel the need to have cosmetic enhancements. I adore Sally Field and shall look forward to this movie. We all age...if we are fortunate...and I feel I have earned every wrinkle I have and wear proudly. Yes, the mirror often scares me but then I realize my years are beyond how I feel and/or act. Thank You Madamm Samm for posting this.

    1. Sometimes Sherry, we just need a gentle reminder that NATURAL IS FAR MORE BEAUTIFUL.... I hate seeing some of my friends who have had so much botox, I feel I lost my friend, something has taken them away...I can never stop staring at them....because all the while I am thinking" why, where did you go" lol

  18. I love Sally Field.
She is always perky. She and i would be BFFs if she would just come over here bc I am sort of busy.
I want to see this movie
I also want to make this for my mom and dad's apartment front door.
I would probably make some little naughty bees and put them in that flower.
I hope you are doing great Missy Samm. I had a great day with my baby Sarah, it was so fun, and she is very smart and enjoyable for a 9 month old.
Then my mom called me and told me she felt "fuzzy" she forgets she had the stroke two years ago, so I have to remind her that the fuzzy feeling is just her brains getting better. She says she feels dizzy and I told her i would come over at 10pm to help her get to bed.
She was satisfied and I tell her I love her so much.
My dad too of course. He takes care of mom every day. But then we have Karen our angel. She helps so much. I would be taking a dirt nap if it were not for her
