Sharing some Heartfelt moments...Riot Boys, Sleepover, a new POPPY, - Paper Ladies project updates..

I noted after a couple hours of play our wee Sumo was just plain tuckered out...
I grabbed my camera and just sat on the bottom step with him...
and we had a conversation...

He listened attentively as I shared with him the plans I had for his future...
Considering he is only 5.5 months it is pretty amazing how much wisdom
is in this 6.4 pounds of life. He is such a contented fellow!

There will be always be an elephant in the room that weighs heavy on both
of our hearts but as David constantly reminds me, the love and our humble abode
we provide him may be just the cure he needs.

I would like to think that is true!

Speaking of caring, our vet called today and we are going to
push his neutering forward a couple of months so we can
get some kind of baseline on his condition.
Next month we will do blood work and prepare
him for an April fixing of his boy parts.

I like what he said, "he is a happy fellow who has no idea
what is going on"- we are to enjoy him....
and that we will do...

I love this photo above, as Sumo and I were having our moment,
Monchat came flying in and dropped on the second step...
Sumo never even moved....You can tell Monchat has this mischief
look about him...we are calling him TinMan at times
as he has no heart...well none that we can hear
as he always PURRRRRS...
What a happy fellow he is..!

Sumo has found a grocery bag as a welcoming solitude away
from it all. He sleeps in it a couple hours each day...
while Monchat looks on...
"what are you doing?"--or something like that lol

I love this shot of him, he is was getting settled in for a nap...and kept reaching
for my slippers as I was sitting stitching...
He has so many pensive looks...

Ohhh this one- had David and I smiling...like he was blessing our new design
for my pillow case...Again Riot Boys is such an appropriate description of them..

Meanwhile as our "Riot Boys" grow each day they also have
been more adventurous... their activity mirrors the terrible 2's of children.
They have been hearing a lot of NO's lately as T-cup has
after 16 years decided that the top of our island is a great past time..
Of course once she started perching on our kitchen island...
the "Riot Boys" have decided to join her...

We must think like cats.... We picked up some "Sticky Paws' tape
and we have added an edge on our island and kitchen counter...
Cats hate anything sticky, so this may stop them from pacing
on our counters...Such a NO-NO here...
And we blame T-cup for that....
Who said CATS are not calculating? lol

Funny how when you live with them you don't see how much they change...
as Ragdolls they will keep changing for the next 3 years...
We thought Monchat had not changed at all, but his face is getting fuller and his
grey is getting darker and spreading..

Now in 1 month, Sumo has gotten thicker, but his colors
only seem to have darkened, not spread as much as Monchats..

So while we get them under control, I  have some patterns to complete...

My "Side by Side" Sleepover pillow case is completed...Cori is
working at completing hers, ( she did hers in applique)...It is beautiful....

We have another I am working on presently, no sneak peak just yet...
but that one is called "SOAP OPERA"....it is sweet like a
Valentines commercial....

For anyone with best friends, this would be a lovely design to make...
again we share so many tidbits so you too can stitch like a pro...
YOUR BEST FRIEND would love it as you will too. ( you will need to make one for yourself) wink.

And speaking of pro....this Flamingo design
is for Mary who quilts like a pro....
She loves Flamingos...it took some doing to find the fabric
needed to make her a personal eyeglass case..
( thanks to everyone involved) Sometimes it takes a village
to find the correct fabric collection....

I used flannel gingham for the outside and inside lining
so as not to scratch her glasses..

This is an extra special birthday this week, so
it needed to be extra special....

It is Valentines week here and Family day coming on Monday..
In Canada, everyone has this day off to celebrate FAMILY..

So with all of my heart to yours...
may this be an extra special weekend....

thank you for sharing so much of your heart with us!

  5. Those kitties are just so beautiful. I think I could forgive them any mischief. I remember Puppy-cat climbing on the counter and opening cupboards, then tossing stuff down to the dog to open up and share. Maybe that is why Nikko wants a cat so badly.

  8. Your boys are just adorable! Sumo and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. We had adopted a 5 month old kitten that due to his heart condition was considered unadoptable. At that time he was on 3 different medications and was given a poor prognosis of living only 1 year. He is now 7 and on no medications. We just take one day at a time and enjoy him so much as I know you are doing with Sumo! Wishing the best for your family.

    1. Good Morning Jack...your note certainly gives us some hope...Sumo is not on any medication as we can rule out Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, both his parents do not carry the mutation. Our vet will be able to share more in our next visit to whether Sumo's heart disease is progressing.. As I write, both of our riot boys were wrestling for over an hour....so needless to say, he has a lot of energy...perhaps Monchat will be instrumental in his healing...we do enjoy them everyday, every moment...we are seldom apart....thank you again for your sweet note...

  12. I love the boys-so adorable. I'm allergic to cats but have 2 kittens born to feral cats and 2 feral cats that have tamed up enough to hold living in our heated garage. There are about 8 feral (wild) cats that live in the shed that won't let us touch them. They are out of the cold and rain. Wish I could warm it up for them more. Do I understand correctly that your patterns come from UT?

    ReplyDelete

    1. HI sweet lady..funny you mention ferals, years ago I had no idea what they were...I could not believe there were so many wild cats out there....good that you have a nice place for them....and yes Patterns come from UT ( paper ones) and we have downloads too...we will have them all in ebay and etsy next week...we have 26 patterns now...so it is time to load them up ...what are you looking for?

    2. I'm going to order the sleepover. I'm a push over for telephone themes-I'll be making a quilt with telephone fabric and paper piecing. I can embroider the sleepover and slip it in and I think two pillowcases to match would be nice. I started as a cord board operator in 1977 and retired in 2009 as a Telecomm Specialist for "the" phone company.

    3. Hi Natureluvr....leave an email. Cori is just finishing it up, and we will send off a note when it is live....ashhhh telecomm specialist how cool is that...I always wanted to be an operator when I was young..I really did...I took a summer job working for Bell, ...Love your idea for quilt...
