Downton Abbey .....RERUN.... ( riot boys update)

I am just not ready to say goodbye to Downton Abbey! The whole series has ended up in our home and I cannot stop watching each episode  nor  listening to the soundtrack. I suppose you could say I have the "Crawly Fever. " and I see no cure anytime soon!

I can't recall any series that has me quoting or remembering every cast member...That is good writing. There is something I am working on that has consumed me these days, something that will provide order in our home....  it is a Downton Abbey theme.....I have seen the last episodes and I can only say I sighed....Not to give anything away just....... SIGH....SIGH......SIGH!

Years ago there was a movie that had a similar effect on me....I watched it 53 times....I am only on the second watch of  Downton Abbey episodes -I am at season 3 episode 1,  and I cannot even imagine putting it away any time soon. So my summer is already planned....along with working on something DOWNTON ABBEY theme, well you will see soon enough....lots of research into this...

In the meantime, our riot boys have been constant company and JOY..

Spring is showing signs inside and outside of our home. Each morning the boys join
me on the window bench watching the birds..

The Paperwhites have blossomed and are now cut back for next spring...
Their smell sadly has upset our home with allergies, so they are now in the GARAGE....lol

Lot's of play being witnessed..The RIOT BOYS have Spring FEVER....their nap times are less
their play times increase....we are witnessing the terrible twos.......they have energy
that never ends....and we enjoy every moment...
We love their tender moments, they are such great companions for one another...

The days seem to whip by so quickly these days...hope your days are filled
with JOY as well!

  2. Ohhh yes Countess of Grantham, Violet is such a treasures My fav all along was Lady Edith....she reminded me of a young Barbara Stanwyck. As I am embracing the whole series all over again, Miss Daisy and Mrs Patmore bring me such joy.....I don't know if there will ever be another series like this one... x

  4. I too have really enjoyed watching this series Samm. It is interesting to see the formality and opulence of that time period give way to the changing times as they were forced to abandon that lifestyle. Society forced them out of it as changing times and fortune gave way under the weight of itself. Violet is a great character as she breaks the only rules she can...by saying whatever she wants in such a clever and smart way. I admire that fire in her character most. Sometimes I think I would have liked living then... but that was a society of rules. You know how I feel about rules...lol..we would have never survived. I think we hunger for a bit of formality these days as it seems the pendulum has swung so far in the other direction that it is uncomfortable...well for me at least. Seeing some people completely give up and go out in the world dressed in pajamas is not really my idea of a perfect world. Don't get me wrong, I like casual, but even that is a bit too casual for me. Some rules just shouldn't be broken. I hope that someday we will find a happy medium... where women look like women, and men look like men. I do what I can to keep that little formality alive in my world. Your boys are so sweet. I haven't seen pictures of them in a while. They are still changing so much. Lots of love to all of you Samm. xx

    1. Ohhh you know how I feel about rules Cori lol ...but having the rules set out by the nuns in my youth, I really did like order, etiquette, manners, decorum, all that seems to be lacking today..and yes the pendulum has swung too far. Perhaps a big reason why I enjoy D.A. so much...I miss traditions, women looking like women, men looking like men... It is funny how the past brings such warmth to our hearts and so much desire to be a bit like the past....
and yes our boys are changing and growing....I just caught Monchat swinging on the blinds....lol

Legends of the fall....I was teaching Metis at the time, an entrepreneurial training program, we went to see it on an outing when it came to theatre....My students taught me so much and that movie has always had a significant impact on my life...for many reasons...so that was the movie, Anthony Hopkins, Brad Pitt, Julia Ormond, Aidan Quinn, Henry Thomas....worth seeing...

    2. In early 20th-century Montana, Col. William Ludlow (Anthony Hopkins) lives in the wilderness with his sons, Tristan (Brad Pitt), Alfred (Aidan Quinn) and Samuel (Henry Thomas). Eventually, the unconventional but close-knit family encounters tragedy when Samuel is killed in World War I. Tristan and Alfred survive their tours of duty, but, soon after they return home, both men fall for Samuel's gorgeous fiancée, Susannah (Julia Ormond), and their intense rivalry begins to destroy the family.

    1. Hello Sweet Lady, I know I felt the same...my sweet man ended up purchasing the whole series for me, as I would not stop whining ( like Lady Mary) lol Not sure if it will be in reruns anytime soon, but Netflix Canada has the first 4 seasons...the other 2 have not been aired yet...which is why I wanted the box version...we got it for $60.00 and it was worth every dollar... pretty cheap entertainment for us....I will never ever tire of them...

  17. Oh, I guess I am the lucky one to have a chance to see Downton Abbey for the first time. I adore watching such movies! I see what you mean when you have just seen the last episode. It's like ... all characters became your relatives and now you miss them so much! I also have such BEST-EVER-MOVIE (and best-ever-book, actually) - "The Forsyte Saga" (Mini-Series 2002, the one with Damian Lewis, Rupert Graves and Gina McKee). I have read the book for 4 times (twice russian and twice english), and I know that I will read it again and again. The story itself is so vivid and so touching! And I also like all the characters!

I have never heard of the Forsyte Saga, I shall seek tat one one out too...mmmmm we should ask for more recommendations...it is nice to fall into a series that makes us appreciate our lives....

Last night was a behind the scenes and next week (6th) is the final episode...I do not want to see it end...but I guess they should say a farewell while on a high note and not drag it into the ground.

Oh what precious babies - so furry and cute.
