Officially now a CAT Lady, ( ragdolls) scratch that... I am a CAT MADAME... MONCHAT IS HOME!

They say you become a CAT LADY when you have more cats than laps.

Now that is certainly one title I never thought I would have. Cat Lady mmmmm maybe I will change that to Cat Madame. After all I am a Madame ( and married)  Ok, so it is Official as of today...I am
A Cat Madame. goodness me lol I could never have planned on this happening last year. So much has changed.... and yet here I am exploring  a new title and a new role in my life.

Monchat is a BOY, all boy!

Just proves a point, we have so little control of our lives, things can change so quickly, it is how you deal with it and mourn and move on that shapes you into the person you will be. I have become a Cat Madame. Who would have ever predicted that? Certainly not me... ( smiling here) Sumatra would no doubt be thinking. " She needs 2 cats to replace me" And you know, she would be absolutely correct.  I still miss her every single day. xx

There was no doubt in both of our minds when Sumatra passed we would find it in our hearts to get another Ragdoll. I was happy with the idea of ONE new CAT. It was David who said we should get 2 because T-cup is nearing her expiration date. Although she is quite healthy, we knew first hand how lonely it can be for the cat left behind. T-cup was lost those first two weeks, she kept searching for her every evening and crying out for her.

 - T-cup our Matriarch  (main coon) is 16 years old. She has been a source of inspiration, totally loyal cat to both David and I and a very dear companion and support when Sumatra passed away last October. She never left my side for weeks....I don't know how I would have gotten through without her constant love. She surprises me every day at how quickly she accepted Sumo ( seal bi-coloured ragdoll)  into our home and hearts. They play - eat side by side- sleep on their condo every evening and I must say, I love her more for accepting him completely into our family. I love this photo taken yesterday. NOTE: this wee bed was for Sumo, well T-cup had claimed it hers the day before Sumo ever came home...
It still is her favourite napping spot, especially if Sumo wants it ....

You can just imagine this conversation....

T-cup: " We will get along as long as you know -this is my napping station, are you listening to me?"
Sumo :" yada yada yada... "
( or something like that)

Now of course T-cup had no idea that Sumo was coming the next day...
She was excited to have a new napping station... She has loved it ever since!

Now this is one of Sumo's other napping stations.  Now this weaved basket and scratching post
is really his..T-cup is just to large to fit into it, and as you see Sumo is too ...
How he can sleep in this position has us puzzled...?
He usually curls up in a ball. He loves sitting here when we are on our loungers...

and REAL TIME....( I wrote the above post early this am)

WE picked up Monchat, ( blue mitted ragdoll) this am, I could barely sleep last night, I was so excited. A refresher Monchat means MY CAT in French pronounced MO-SHAW in English.

Monchat was to be the only cat we were adopting from Sandy and Charlie ( breeders) when David said we should order 2.  Sumo was a runt of the litter and Sandy was holding him back until we asked if she had another to adopt... that is how Sumo came to be, he is a month older than Monchat exactly.
They were both born on the 4th of the month. Sumo Sept 4th, and Monchat Oct 4th.  Their birthdates will  always be easy to remember.

So here are some photos of our first encounter with this wee fellow! Sandy was good to keep us in photos ever since he was born....remember these...

And here is he is now....our newest member of our family and I assure you
there will be no more cats .....3 is plenty!
And like Sumo after our meet and greet, it was not long before Monchat was on his back
showing me his tummy and reaching for me....
He then went for a nap for a few minutes... till he greeted me with this visual.

This was through his soft bag....the mesh makes him look so much older...
again, he will be 3 months on Jan 4th.

I had already ordered his new name tag,
David laughed when I chose a convention name
tag..." Is this to remind us who he is?". :)

I actually chose it as it matched his Red Gingham collar...
His next one is Blue, but it is an adult size....and this one is for kittens!

We are still in the car on our way back home....Monchat purred, did not
whine once....He was so calm and content....David kept watching me in the back seat, noting
"You are a Cat WHISPERER" ...we both smiled...

We have been home but an hour, T-cup is sound asleep, after meeting with Monchat...
Monchat shared water with T-cup -not as much as a second look...
Both went on their way. Secretly I think T-cup is happy to have someone
to keep Sumo company... I love her look upon seeing Monchat lol.
" Ok, another fur ball, is this it?" or something like that...

As you can see, there was little socializing on our part...these boys
are already playing, Sumo was keen on showing him around the house...
took him too all rooms with Monchat in tow....

They are not much different in size so I can see my role
is going to be relinquished to "feed me, clean my litter and goodnight" lol

These boys are already pals....all we hear is distant bells..
they both have bells that have distinctive jingles..

Our home now looks like a Cattery, toys in the baskets. Napping beds
in every room, towers, scratching post in every corner...
3 eating stations, 4 litter boxes...lol

Monchat watching Sumo getting closer....lol
this top tower is 7.5 feet tall.
( this photo was taken in his forever home 13 minutes after arriving)

It took, Sumo at least 3 days before he tackled this tower...
Monchat saw it, climbed to the top in superman speed
with Sumo right behind him.....

And there is no doubt in my mind that  Monchat is camera worthy, he too does not mind
me behind a Canon lens....They are still playing, chasing one another at warp speed...no doubt both will be crashing anytime soon, and  their parent keepers may need a cat nap too lol

I am just finishing this post and as suspected, both are on their mini towers trying to find their perfect sleeping position...FINALLY ! ....
