A lot happens in a year....ornaments on our tree

 Happy Holidays...... Merry Christmas
I poured your favourite brew, I baked you some very special HOMEMADE
shortbread cookies..it is time to see what ornaments found themselves
as "snapshots" of 2015.

Sit your cushy down and sit a spell, you are my special guest today.

If you have a fav ornament to share, link up with us!
YOU are welcomed to participate!

Our tree complete with a giant coffee mug...no surprise there
this would be in our kitchen! A great perk to see each waking day!

I love the camera, so Cori surprised me with an ornament of one...it is without a doubt
a year of photos for me...some that tore my heart but also mended it.
So this one was a delightful CAPTION of my year!

For weeks after not finding the perfect ornament Cori and I would chat
about this "macaroni project" she was working on. Nothing could have prepared me
for our LIFE on this beautiful stitched ornament.... complete with gingham bow!

After wiping the memories of 2015 from my cheeks, I was able
to see what she saw....my life stitched and coming to life.

Cori stitched our life in segments.... our sweet missed Sumatra on a cloud in heaven,
with T-cup and Sumo and Monchat filling our lives with
YARN TAILS .....
There is JOY in our home after many losses!
* we lost T-cup in March, still her absence is felt but she lives within our hearts every day

This one symbolized our many chats over tea about what we were going
to work on in 2015 with Paper Ladies and special projects.
Blue birds are unique to Cori
and I could not help but fall in love with them years ago
in  all the  pattern designs  I purchased and still treasure.
She always had a blue bird there somewhere....
So here we are 2 birds singing melodies
of happiness and  sharing of our hearts...

This one was funny ....our cross stitch endeavours which started with  me embracing x-stitch again
with a  ROSE in January.  Cross stitching then led to some unique  stitched and hand applique patterns we worked on , some on black canvas... and BECAUSE I CAN has special meaning..
The Stamp wellllll, as I cross the border a lot sending and picking up packages....
So I have an American Address NOW!

This beautiful luscious ornament signifies the GIFT of Friendship!
A constant reminder of how fragile and delicate our union really is!
It also signifies the true gift of the season , it is all about HEART!

I laughed at this segment, I sing this song on my window bench  about birds
and a broken heart and the lesson of "I will love again" -
I shared it with Cori, and she remembered it and the
circle with F on the bottom stumped me till she shared that it was our
It is coming to life in 2016, we are so excited to share that very soon with you ~

This segment signifies,  my sweet David's ride to Conquer Cancer this summer
we embrace a love story that will ALWAYS be PRESENT!
and my New MINI COOPER that I purchased as a new toy
that I always wanted.... still love it!
We went on a summer mini invasion with hundreds of other
mini owners...What an adventure it was!
Another stitched memory that will live in my heart forever!

And this segment for the new adventures in Paper Ladies and my Muffintolose
business which is prospering and rising to new heights each month...
We both have done so much this year and this "macaroni ornament"
will always capture a sweet sentiment of the joys
of a friendship that knows no bound.
( sold the business this year which was a very good decision)

Our Christmas wish is that everyone of you finds
a friend who brings out so much JOY in your life...
To have a friend you must be one....
You just have to go out on a LIMB!

Like this  last ornament...find someone you can stitch with, laugh with, wear
your pj's with, and work on anything gingham by the hours...

So these are the ornaments that found themselves
on our tree this year from my exchange partner/ and sweet friend Cori...

What a YEAR!

Thanks Cori! YOU do bring such JOY!
I am so glad I listening with my Heart!

This is one of my favourites that Steven Curtis Chapman
about Christmas in the heart...
Still makes me tear after all these years...
There is so much JOY to find.....
sometimes it is right in front of YOU!

  8. Ahhhh Samm...you and this Macaroni...lol. I did feel like a small child making a macaroni necklace, but this is what happens when there is absolutely nothing out there that can express a whole year of YOU! Wish I had a connection to the North pole....because I should have been shopping where you were! I LOVE my ornaments. Each one is perfect. WE have had such adventures this year. You inspire so much creativity in me. I have many treasured memories of you; stitching just a few on this crazy little ornament. I am so glad you like it...as they say necessity is the mother of invention. I had to invent an ornament for you! Love ya sweet lady, and I can't wait to see what life has in store for each of us next year. WE will have lots to stitch about I am sure. Merry Christmas my treasured friend. xx

    2. Ahh Samm... you always see heart.x
Macaroni Ornament is in reference to the macaroni necklace we all get from our kindergarten children at Christmas. As mothers we wear it proudly, and people smile when they see you at the grocery store blending in with the food...lol. I felt like a child making it for her because after an exhaustive search, I couldn't find anything to buy this amazing lady that I thought would connect with her. Samm has quite a collection of beautiful ornaments already. Soooo that is when I had to get creative because I knew that was the only way I could get her something she didn't already have! I may have went a bit far by putting my spin on memories of her year, but it was a lot of fun putting her life into images. I had no idea she would love it as much as she does. Samm, you are so sweet. x

    3. well it is made from the heart....and since I was at school in France, we were not making macaroni necklaces for the nuns lol I never had macaroni till I came home lol
and yes it is one of a kind, and it really means nothing to anyone but me...lol however David loves it ...lol
