Frozen in TIME.... sElfie and Sumo in our kitchen...

I was outside feeding the birds and I happen to hear some commotion by the door...
Here is Sumo wondering why he cannot come out ....I just love this photo.....
I have my camera ready all the time, as you just never know when you are going
to capture that MOMENT FROZEN IN TIME..

I spent yesterday in the kitchen most of the day, getting all of my dough ready for Christmas baking.
I used to send out all of my cookies all ready baked, but shipping often broke them into pieces..
So now I roll them out in rolls and ship them within 2 days to our family and friends -
with instructions on how to bake them, everyone gets a taste of home...

I had my Christmas music playing all day. It just does not seem like the Christmas season if we don't have White Christmas with Bing Crosby in the background... Here are the lyrics to one of my favourites...

Although this year presented us with some challenges and losses, I feel very fortunate we have had many blessings to count instead of sheep...

Count your Blessings..

When I'm worried and I can't sleep
I count my blessings instead of sheep
And I fall asleep counting my blessings

When my bankroll is getting small
I think of when I had none at all
And I fall asleep counting my blessings

I think about a nursery and I picture curly heads
And one by one I count them as they slumber in their beds

So if you're worried and you can't sleep
Just count your blessings instead of sheep
And you'll fall asleep counting your blessings

As you can see I had some help....sElfie was not so good at cleaning up after herself
as you can see, but she really was a great student....

Sumo managed to bring up the flour, he is getting stronger each day wink...
Together we completed all of our holiday baking and making of cookie dough...

sElfie was so excited to show you the rolls of dough we did...there are 33 rolls of cookie dough
that will be ready to ship out tomorrow...Today we will be packaging them all with instructions on
how to slice and bake them... for family and friends...

We are all up early this am, as we have lots to do today so I poured my daily cup of joe and I assure
you, Sumo does not need any Java....he  just loves the smell...

We did some measuring this am....he is now 14 inches love, and from nose to tail 18 inches and has gained 3 oz this week, again right on target, he is nearly 4 pounds, but really feels like a pound....

Hard to believe he is has been here 9 days....he sleeps through the night and his nap times are getting shorter as T-cup and Sumo have play dates at least 3 x a day...

On Saturday, T-cup was outside and got into a fight with a neighbouring cat that runs wild in our neighborhood. They have never had a fight before, T-cup does not like him on her good days...

I broke them apart..T-cup did not have one scratch but her heart was pounding so loud I could hear it.. David seems to think she is more protective now because Sumo is here. I have to agree with him...She is so protective of him and very gentle....he watches her with amusement... She is like the Grandmother, happy to have some "young one" to teach a few lessons too....

I needed a drink after that lol....

While we all settled down from that excitement...my Madagascar Vanilla Beans
arrived. David went out to our local liquor store for a bottle of Vodka..

I split all the beans, warmed up the vodka and added the vanilla beans and vodka
to a 1 quart jar , shake and let put it in the pantry for the next month....
HOMEMADE VANILLA...it is already dark, just from 1 day....
Soon I will be pouring it into frosted bottles for stocking stuffers...

My Christmas shopping is completed, my baking is done,
no decorations yet...but we will do that this weekend....

In the meantime, it is time for another few minutes to cat nap....

( I love this photo as this was the ME TIME paper lady
and that was Sumatra stitched on my bag.....
she is still here, I feel her every time I look into the eyes of my sweet Sumo)

Not me, I have some wrapping to do...
Yesterday they had a skating party lol......

Monchat update...he won't be here for Christmas as planned, he missed one of his vac's shots, so he will be home on January 3rd....By then Sumo will be more familiar with our home and will be the welcome committee with T-cup...

Count your blessings...you would be surprised at how many you do have....for us, we are blessed with the love of this newest fur ball...whom we love to the moon and back....

  2. Hi - Just read about you sending out dough. What a great idea. Do you freeze it first or is it okay just refrigerated and shipped within that 2 day range?

    1. HI Gale, no freezing just keep refrigerated, and I ship priority and it keeps well, I would not do it in the summer, but winter months it is perfect....I even have sent it to myself to be sure it was perfect ...and it was lol..

  3. I love your Sumo and I am so curious about seeing the little Monchat with hom together.
The Vanilla-idea is great. I only put the used beans into sugar to get Vanilla sugar. Also very jummy!

  4. Wow...you three have been so busy. I had to laugh at MsElfie, looks like she is certainly having fun, and Sumo is as cute as ever. Your post reminds me of an Ed Sheeran song....

We keep this love in a photograph
We make these memories for ourselves
Where our eyes are never closing
    Hearts are never broken
    Times forever frozen still.

Your love is so evident in photographs, because you can see it in the eyes of your subjects. When you add words, there is no doubt about how much love you pour into those around you. What a lucky brew you have. xxx

  6. You and sElfie have really been busy mixing cookie dough. I love that you ship rolled dough and the recipient bakes the cookies. I do feel blessed every day. I live in a small Victorian town and they celebrate Victorian Christmas every December. I also live in the Hallmark movie town featured in "The Christmas Card". Christmas Blessings Indeed...
