head over heels in love with Elfie #2 and comfort food!

Who knew playing with dolls would be so much fun?
It has turned my days upside  down this week....
Problem was I could not find a "cute" ELF on the shelf...
so I made a couple....

Of course you already have seen Cori's...
Well mine is now complete too...
Every day in December, they are going to show up somewhere
and we are going to post where we found them on our blogs...

We are so united in stitches this year, it seemed appropriate we have ELFIE dolls
now too...
I have curly hair so I added the curls, and I dressed her in opposite
colours of Cori's....and I have a big smile, because I know
she always wonders what I am up to next....

David said I got her down TOTALLY.....lol

Cori has this look on her face, she can be so serious at times...
so I think she is wondering...."what you up to now" ?

Today I have a few packages to get out for tomorrow,
so my doll making may be on hold this week...

Although I did start up another that I will put on Ebay next week...

I am in appointments, training, and travelling this week...
We have SUMO in 6 more sleeps, so there is a lot to complete
before he gets here...

Aren't they cute, I am telling you, it has been a really nice escape these past few weeks...
we finally have laughter in our home again.....

And this is something I made yesterday, so today I will be serving up leftovers...As it is just the 2 of us now, we both love leftovers sometimes more than the 1st meal. Although I have to admit David
loves comfort food and nothing speaks to us like potatoes, eggs, cheese and pastry.....ohh and some nutmeg and salt and pepper, that was it....it really taste as good as it looks...

What is your favourite comfort food...I really want to know...?

So clean up is in our plans today, I have my timer....so I have to run my 23 minutes is UP...lol

  5. These two dolls are adorable. Yes, the red head looks just like you Missie Sammflower.

    I love potatoes.
    I love cookies,
    I love apple pie.
    I love peach pie.
I love hot chocolate, coffee, tea,
    and SUGAR
So, I try to eat a lot of fruit

Yes, you two need to do some kitten proofing.
Sumo is going to be into everything. I am hoping that Little TeaCuppie loves her kitten brother, but if this process is anything like Pierro meeting our beloved Prinnie, there will be some hissing.
Both kitties will need close attention.
Prinnie was 16 years old, and lived for two years longer. She loved Pierro. They did cuddle. She loved him for his warm little body, and Pierro loved her because she smelled funny.

  8. You girls....you dream up the cutest things! Comfort food....oatmeal and toast. Growing up I had this picture in my head of mothers who didn't work, who got up and put on a sweet dress and apron and served oatmeal and toast for breakfast. That didn't happen at my house and I have no idea why I thought it was what mothers should do but now I love oatmeal and toast and fix it for myself on occasion. As I prepare for Thanksgiving dinner I know what each of my children want me to fix - their special requests. Such variety they have! blessings, marlene

  11. Loeve your Elfie dolls, they are just tooo cute.
To us anything is comfort food that we feel eating at the moment. Last night we indulged in home made pizza, but it could have been also stew or something fancy, depends on the mood.
    Greetings,

  12. I really enjoy watching you and Cori playing with your dolls. You can't take the child out of the woman. I think it makes for a happier holiday season. My favorite comfort food is chicken and dumplings. I am spending time making ornaments for the grandchildren right now and it is so much fun. Can't wait to see pictures of Sumo when he comes home.

  17. Both Elfies are just too cute and, of course, so very creative! Oh Samm, you really must stop posting pictures of food. ;) When I first glanced at your pastry, the first thought that came into my mind was scalloped potatoes. I love, love scalloped potatoes. There are so many comfort foods I love ... chicken soup, oxtail soup, beet soup, pierogis, meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy, chili, lasagna ... I think I'll stop now. Oh boy, can't wait to see pictures of Sumo in his new home. Have fun on your date with your sweet David.

  18. HI Jan, so pleased you like, they were sure joy and just the right medicine for my heart....it filled me with hours of pure joy.....lol and food, wellllllll what can I say, food is good for us, especially what brings comfort....just keep portions under control and you can eat whatever you like...it really is about portions and when we had our potato cheese tart, nothing else was served...a nice helping, no bacon, bread, just a slice and that did us for the evening....it had enough protein to fill our senses.... love your list...I do love meatloaf....but only with some mashed potatoes..no gravy, I only like gravy with turkey ...mmmmmmmm
and yes we have a lovely date coming....and it is on me....x
