A season of depth.... ( sumo update)

With compassion for all the sweet moments life has to offer
I have come to realize that this season has been one that signifies
not only death but a return of a new chapter in both of our hearts and minds.

I am reminded of the wisdom of one of my grandchildren
explaining to me why Sumatra had to go...

"We are on earth for a long time 'cause we have to learn how to love. Our pets don't have to stay as long as they learn that lesson as soon as they come to us"

Perhaps Sumatra in one of her engaging moments,  found that answer
on the internet.  ;)

Not a day goes by since she left that she is not the first thing I think about
when I wake and the last thing I think of when I lay my head to my pillow...

As in everything, our lives come full circle...
I will continue to embrace each day with all the passion I can muster...

Funny thing I noted the other day...the leaves have fallen from the trees,
they decompose and provide nourishment to the earth and in the spring
the buds will open and provide LIFE all over again...

I have to have more faith, that although some things come to an end...
they live forever in our hearts...

When our bichon frise left us years ago, we thought we would never ever
love like that again...And then Sumatra came into our life
and she showed many quirks of Duvet...we often called her
dejaduvet. Perhaps with Sumo and Monchat there will be layers
that will unfold that will remind us of Sumatra.

We won't expect it, but if it happens, we  will appreciate
the lessons in the circle of life....

IN my kitchen I have been gathering my ingredients for this seasons baking...
These simple cinnamon sticks made me smile....another gift of nature
that brings such delight to our senses..

So I made some Tiramisu yesterday...
a reward for completing yet another project...
David loves these kind of rewards that bring our palettes such excitement..

The new project.....
A New TAMMY design that will be a sample for a quilt shop...

I redid this whole pattern for those who wanted a PAPER pattern..

Today I am making a couple more!

xx

Update on Sumo....
He will be coming home on Thanksgiving.....
He is changing so much already...

  8. Yes, I think animals have an amazing capacity for love. And they never judge you....we could learn much from them. The purse is gorgeous, is it a full size or the smaller one?

    1. So true Mary Ann, they are amazing teachers....and this is the large one..the Tammy Bag as some call it a Mary Poppins bag...it holds so much...for instance, I can stuff 24 large spools of thread in one and still have room for some tissues ...lol

  9. Children do have a way of saying just what we need to hear and in such wise words. November 15th will be two years and everyday I still miss my little Sasha BooBoo Kitty. They just melt us and become such an important part of our lives. I know she is still in my heart and soul. You are so clever with your dejaduvet for Sumatra. Gentle Hugs and Kind Kisses...that is what you need.

  11. Sweet Sumatra has touched the hearts of many of your readers and will not be forgotten. Love the sweet things your grandson said to you. The Tammy Bag has such a sophisticated look with the bow and lace ... in my favorite colors too! I can't resist anything in that color scheme. Oh Samm, now you just had to show a picture of Tiramisu. It happens to be my favorite dessert and I've been craving it lately, but I'm trying to hold off until Christmas to indulge.
