Free Tutorial on this 3D crochet flower.. and Sneak peak of October PAPER LADY

Autumn is embracing us with such warmth....it is hard  not to be filled with optimism for the days ahead.... Sumatra is doing very well....cannot show any pics of her just yet...she still looks pretty scary,  ( to you but to us she looks heavenly) - she is healing so quickly...Even her disposition is better....

Even though I am still Cat nursing, my duties have now become part time as she exercises her independence..Love that about CATS....

I must be one for punishment though, because yesterday and this morning, I worked 9 hours on this crochet flower...Sheru, this amazing teacher is not at fault...it was me....I am just not good at following written patterns or videos...Welllllll, until now...I was just not going to quit...I watched the video which is a little over 10 minutes, 22 x times...YEP...sad isn't it?

I take pride that I have a pretty high I.Q. but some things are just harder for me....wink...
Seriously I would have PAID for this tutorial. I would have paid to have one one instruction when I was having difficulty in getting the petals connected... But Sheru provides them for FREE...

Thank you sweet lady, you are a pretty amazing and creative CROCHET artiste....

So this is what I have accomplished ( above) ...they are fairly large, about the size of your palm...but WE, Cori and I have some great projects to show soon that will suit this project perfectly..by then I will no doubt be able to make them in 20 minutes vs hours....

Ohhh I used a 2.75 crochet hoot and #3 crochet thread.... A month ago I could not have shared that at all...I had no idea about crochet hooks or crochet threads....

I also have printed off our next PAPER LADY, she is just adorable...
she is holding a pumpkin and I have chosen this hankie to dress her up..
Now if you do not have hankies, you can use a small piece of co-ordinating fabric too...
More on that later....

Our MUMMS are starting to open...we picked them up on Friday...
they were 3 large containers for $24.00 that is a pretty good deal,
as they last for a couple weeks...

Another reason to embrace each season...
FALLLLLL brings such beautiful hues of autumn colours...

I even had time to design yet another postcard to
thank those who have been purchasing some fabric
collections that I am saying goodbye too...

We have an order some YARNS, so I really need some
space in my cabinets ....I have so much fabric
that really will never be used any time soon and that is such a shame...
So why not part with it...share it with you....

This is why I embrace FALL, I have some painting projects that will be requiring my attention..Remember the china buffet that Cori and I both purchased within days of each other...well we will have a reveal sometime soon....

I also have pies to me making soon..I stopped into our local orchard, they will be ready in a couple of weeks...

The JOY has found itself back in our humble abode.....and I am busy planning the days ahead....
Thank you for being part of our journey...

OHHHHH P.s. Our dear JUDY is back home...and has managed to get some control back in her life...she misses you all as we miss her...but all those prayers helped...Thank you again...

YOU matter..

  2. Perseverance seems to me the word of the day Samm...not only for you with your cute flowers, but also for Sumatra and Judy. I am so glad to hear they are on their way to brighter days ahead! I just LOVE your flowers - both of them...going to work on the crochet ones today - give me at least 9 hours..lol! Your October girl is going to be stunning! I love these color choices for her....I will be on the hunt for something similar. I want to be using the hankies like you, they are such a unique addition, and I love them with these ladies...so much so, we may have to incorporate them into next year! I have an idea.... xx

  4. Don't feel bad at all ... I started a pair of socks, knitted two at a time, three years ago. I have read the instructions, looked at tutorials on knitting, and still have not put the toe in. The toe !!! Now I am thinking about going to a knitting shop in Raleigh - you know, someone who knows what the heck they are doing, and just sitting all afternoon until finished, or giving them away, which ever comes first.

Your little flowers are so delightful and I can see them being worn if you were to glue a pin on the back. Looking forward to the daisies, one of my favorites, and to see what you are going to do with all of them.

Nice talking with you today. Your mums are spectacular and well worth the money. We are enjoying the cooler weather also and I can breath so much better when outside. That hot and humid kept me inside all summer. Hugs from Judy C

and Mumms, although we have many critters in our forest...they would have to come up the stairs or jump 13 feet to reach our Mumms....lol that has not happened yet...a secret garden sounds enchanting.
