Fall Yarns, Garden and Paper Ladies for September....

Although it is like a steam bath all over our Country ....
I am already thinking FALL ... Possibly because most kids are back to school
TOMORROW and in Canada in a couple more weeks ...

I have loved this SUMMER, our garden has kept us in white flowers for months ..
and although it took me the entire summer to distinguish between my pansies and petunias ...
I finally figured it out ... these are Pansies
PETUNIAS ...

and they are still brilliant white ... all over our garden, they have flowered all summer ... unlike
Our Geraniums have not Been happy Bloomers .... So next year, Geraniums Will be Replaced with more  Pansies.  ... .. YES Petunias Petunias ...

and speaking of fall ... I ordered all those OMBRE Merino Hand DYED yarns
for some fall projects ...

One of the first things on my FALL LIST
One of the first is to master
artiste named Kazuko Ryokai

I have ordered these two books, because whatever has come over me
I am just loving these flowers ....

Look at that sweet coverlet for the china mug .... and the tea pot ... I am swooning over it all ..

And this knitting bag, well I just adore it to the GARDEN and BACK ...
So now that I have ordered all the books and patterns, surely I will be able
to make something ....

And while I wait for them to arrive .... I am completing our SEPTEMBER PAPER LADY ...
and she is wearing all the colours I wore at boarding school.
She is coming out so lovely ... even wearing a TAMMY which was quite common
when I was in school. My Nanny used to crochet me a whole slew of them in different colours ..
RED was always my favourite .... wink .... (no suprise there)

We have a very busy week planned ... a few day trips and MINI INVASION
is next weekend ... over 600 people and 300
MINI COOPERS will be invading the capital city...

Lot's to plan and I want to take some needle work, as I will not always be driving ....

Do you have PLANS this fall ....? What is on your
"I want to LEARN LIST?"

YOU matter!

  4. That green bag is lovely, although I struggle with reading crochet patterns (knitting is easier for me). I love fall, but I am hanging on to the very end of summer...this one has been wonderful so far, and I hate to see it end (even with the extremely HOT weather). Enjoy your week!

  10. Oh, Samm - I love the colors of the yarns. And of course all the pictures of these lovely knitted and crocheted pieces. Should change the needles for a while I think - from stitching to crochet needle ;-)
    Have a wonderful new week!

  12. Beautiful projects in those books but....are the instructions in English? I am ready for fall. The weeks of triple digit temps have burned everything to a crisp. Nothing pretty anymore so bring on fall!

  13. Your garden is soooo pretty. I love it all.
The only thing I am growing this year is Lavender. Keeping it alive somehow. ... haha
These little crocheted things are very cute. I do not feel like doing crochet now, but perhaps one day when I am collapsed from exhaustion I will make bright crocheted stuff.
Love always to you Missie Samm
