I am so GIDDY, August Paper Lady and Dish Cloth....

Can I even describe this wonderful giddiness that has come over me ...?
I do not think so .... but I will say the butterflies in my tummy these past
few days are such a welcome delight ....

I am not sure what it feels like being locked up for years, as I have never
broken the law in any way ... but there is this incredible feeling of EUPHORIA
that has me soaring heights that are just a delight to behold ...

Take Our AUGUST LADY for instance from Our Ladies Paper collection ..
She is stunning ... this hankie that she is wearing..IMAGINE now !!!
one hankie ok two, as she has a cotton cardigan she is trying on,
could DRESS us up? WEllllll I suppose if I sewed All of My hankies ..?
(Psst I have a few) I could make myself a dress ....

Well anyway, I just love this sweet ensemble ... If I were a designer,
and I am not nor do I see that in my near future, it would be nice to
have this fabric to work with ...

Why are FABRIC COMPANIES not even considering making
yards of HANKIES again .... mmmmmm ???

I may stir things up a bit  there.... let's see .... wink ....

Well anyway, she has to be one of my favourites again ..

OHhhhh she just posted her August....really except for a wee hint
of what colours I am thinking of we never discuss until we complete our ladies..
The similarities are so uncanny...the colours, the shoes, the details...
OH MY I knew this would be a fav month....
She is soooooo stunning!

WE have so many PLANS .... and that is very exciting to both of us ...

Here are JUNE, JULY and August Paper ladies ... I have to admit
playing with PAPER LADIES is so me .....

I get to me a mini designer ... wink ...

And now I have so much time to do what I WANT TO DO,
I thought I would tackle this beautiful basket of goodies that arrived yesterday ..
New crochet hooks, 3 pattern books, lot's of yarn ...
Thanks ladies, you sooooo tickled me PINK ...
 HOW I can ever thank you...wink. x

Again, still not sure how to read a pattern but if I look at the photos
I can figure out a bit..... so this is what I got done yesterday ...
I worked on this sweet little dish cloth with three rows of pink variegated yarn ...

And yes my ends leave a lot to be desired, but at least my tension is getting better
and I am crochet with a bit more ease ..

I am going to visit a very dear Aunt today, My Aunt Helen who is not
really an aunt but a very good friend of my family for decades ...
WE spoke last evening, so I am taking my crochet hook and yarn
and some patterns, and she is going to teach me how to read a pattern ...

I am bringing this along too ... kinda like mini PAPER LADIES before they grew up ...
The possibilities are endless..Cori and were giggling like children last night ....

OH MY!

It has been very hot and will be this whole week, so I put out some LINENS yesterday ...
my white nighties, linen blouses, and some t-towels....I just love
how clean everything gets when the sun kisses it ....

Kinda of like the sunshine in my days, I just want to kiss everything ...
Seems I have missed so much ....

Welll not anymore ....xxxx

This lady has PLANS ..... now I must take a small trip this am, I have some errands to run
and then spend some time with a very special lady for a few hours in Niagara Falls...

YOU SO MATTER

  3. Love your August Lady. Just beautiful, as are all the rest. Can't wait to see Cori's. I am so glad you have someone to show you how to read a pattern. I keep thinking it is easy but then when I think in my head how I would explain it, it is not so easy! LOL Hands on is the best way to learn. And it is nice you will be visiting someone special at the same time. Have fun!

  5. I am so thrilled to hear the new tone in your writing. There is a happiness and relaxed tone there that wasn't before. Just knowing that you are enjoying this new chapter brings a smile to my face.

As always, the new Paper Lady is stunning. It's so appropriate to have a cardigan handy in August as the air conditioning can sometimes be to chilly.

Your crochet is looking good, much better than I could hope. It just takes time to accustom your hands to the feel of the correct tension. Your hook will be flying in no time.

Enjoy visiting your friend at Niagara Falls and soak in all those negative ions while you're there. Rina

  13. I am loving your hankies..... I remember my Nana having drawers full of them... If only I knew that one day the idea of re-using them in such a way would appear I would have snaffled them all!! :o)
I love watching people crochet - my Mum used to crochet years ago and used to make all these lovely animals and structured doileys etc 30 old years before they became a trend.... again if only I had known what the future would bring - I would made sure to have learnt from her - I would certainly be jumping in right now with all these gorgeous patterns that are available now!
    Enjoy your crocheting day out!
    Hugs xx

    1. Listen it is never too late for anything, I think I am proving that...hankies are really cheap....a crochet hook is pennies...what is stopping you? I am finding that the small things make me the happiest....

  14. What a beautiful post Samm. I can feel your excitement and joy in every word. I am loving your lighthearted spirit these days, it is so contagious. Your August lady is very pretty....my favorite yet again. I love these colors, but you already know that. She is so pretty. I did get my girl finished up too. It is uncanny how alike they are...lol. I noticed that I had forgotten the bows on her shoes, so I must put those on, but she will be joining your pretty collection of girls tomorrow. I have never enjoyed making a project as much as I have this year. I am so excited to see your progress with the crochet. You are a natural, and when you get that pattern reading down, well you are going to be a force to be reckoned with! You are pure JOY! xx

    1. There is a lightness to my days for sure. I guess I had no idea how stressed I really was until it all stopped...now to create, design, work at my pace is such a gift...Not surprising we love the same colours and doing the same hues....and to boot, this has been one of the most joyous of years I have yet to experience.. I am finishing up my fist dish cloth today and the feeling is ....what next? lol

  15. WOW Missie, theseprojects are just beautifical
These paper ladies are adorable, this one is so sweet.
    I tried crocheting.... and knitting....
I love the hankies on the line.
I agree about fabric companies. Liberty has lovely fabrics that can be edged with hand made Lace. My mom made tons of lace, it is all special. When they lived in Brussels for 15 years she joined a lace making guild and she was on fire! Long happy story there.
Have a wonderful Wednesday. I am treadmilling the morning away, then off to Leesburg to help my baby with her baby, We are going shopping :-)

  16. Samm I am loving the paper ladies. I am just sorry to admit I don't quite understand what they are. I am still trying to find handkerchiefs, the few I do find are so expensive. I saw where you mentioned they are cheap please tell me where I can find some. I use to collect them and then with the dolls I started using them with the Mammy dolls putting them inside the waist of aprons or inside little purses. Now I am mad >stomping my feet< lol. Have a great day Samm I am going back to making little Cupcakes Polka dots and Gingham is everywhere (((Hugs))) Cheryl

    1. HI MY SWEET, Paper ladies are patterns of fashion monthly ladies that are patterns that you can print out, trace on any fabric and either applique or embroider and dress with hankies...actually very simple and no 2 are ever alike...WE provide step by step on how to do them and our patterns have many coloured photos.....Hankies...go to ebay and look for those bye now or vintage hankies LOT....check daily, because there are always many in groupings....never pay more than 2 .oo each....those that are single are usually overpriced and unless they are a designer, which you possibly would not cut up...look for 12 or more hankies in lot sizes...there are many gems...hope that helps...Glad to hear you are making dolls again...nobody makes them like you do..I so enjoy my collection....xx
