A return to a calmness

The calmness of my days are rather comforting, no rushing, no anxious moments and certainly no more tears... I am embracing TODAY, because there will never be another like it...

I think what is really worth celebrating is that I have a renewed strength, renewed confidence and certainly a renewed sense of creativity...It is cool this morning, kind of a like a fall morning and although I am not really prepared to cuddle in for the winter, I have PLANS, lots of PLANS....

And they will include YOU too...in a different way, wait and see....For the meantime I have this on my plate today, I have our August Paper Lady to complete, I have been PLAYING with my ball of yarn, ( my practice yarn , I call it) I am looking for some crochet patterns for afghans and reading shawls..

See that wee crochet tea cup and saucer...my Nanny made that for me,
she gave it to me when I was maybe 7-8 years old.....I have treasured it since...
and that long piece of edging crochet...I was practicing again...turns out
with just some time and calmness, I can do this ....

So I will complete my August Paper Lady today and enjoy my breakfast.....

I found this BUG mold and it turns out to be perfect size for my 1/2 muffin for
breakfast portion and lunch...
See those flat ones, those were made from my WHOOPIE pan..
they are the tops of muffins...again, perfect size for that quick snack
that will fill me up for hours...

Many of you are experienced that so you know what I am talking about...

I just took these out of the oven....WE are having BUGS this AM lol

Which reminds me of my Bug song..

bugs bugs bugs if I had them all in jugs
I would dig dig dig till a big whole was dug
and that would be the end of my bug song..

WE have some gardening to do today too..our tomato plants are almost 5 feet tall and 12 feet wide...we need to cut back some of them so we will have lots of tomatoes in a few weeks for some salsa...I plan on canning at least 40 jars..that will get us through the winter...Tomatoes are one of the best fruits for the following reason... Do yourself a favour today, make something with TOMATOES,
your body will just love you for it...

  2. While reading this post I can almost feel how relaxed you are. I'm glad you have found that. That's how I felt when I retired. That tea cup is so darned cute. I love crochet the best when I am using a small hook and cotton thread. I actually taught myself to crochet by making doilies (way back in the 60s). You are going to love crochet.

  7. I love the little sweater on the paper lady. How precious!
I also have a pan that will bake my muffins and breads in bug shapes, but it is one of those heavy Nordic Ware ones. It's a great way to get kids to eat muffins!
I LOVE tomatoes. I keep a bowl of little cherry tomatoes for snacks.Salsa is a favorite around here, too! I can't believe that this south Texas girl has never made her own salsa! I'm deciding right now that I will do that soon!
