A hankie a day....brings so much JOY!

Who would of thought one wee square of Cotton or Linen could bring so much joy...
I was sorting through my boxes the other day of my HANKIE collection...
and I thought how sad they are all tucked in these boxes and for the occasional
monthly showing of our PAPER LADIES, they sit in a box all pressed
and waiting for a "PICK ME PLEASE"  moment!

So I chose a few of my favourites and thought each morning I will begin my day
with my coffee, my MUFFIN to LOSE and my hankie...
and I will take time to sit back and enjoy the view...

This was my view yesterday morning....

I walked around the garden in my nightie, camera and coffee in hand...
and look at what I saw...dew drops on my daisies...
Such beauty surrounds me, I sometimes forget how
wonderful it is to embrace each day...

As you can see in the background I did have some company....
Sumatra loves to sit under the daisies...she is such a funny girl...

and here T-cup opted for a NO CUSHION day...we have some of these chairs on the deck,
some with cushions and others with none...We find she likes to change during
the day...from one chair to the other, catching some ZZzzzzz 's...
I learn a lot from her....she is now 16 years old, and at times she is like a kitten
and others...well she has her moments...

Ohhhh look at that....so bright it is...

These are so tall , you can see some cosmos in the background....

Close up of my dear Sumatra, I was on her level...she is thinking...
"we both can't stay here you know" lol

Hydrangeas are now in full bloom....I think there are 4 bushes of these in
the back garden they all have merged together,
.... they look so lovely...each year they get larger and bushier
...This is over 80 feet of blossoms....

and some lovely whites in my freshly painted red chair..
I love red accents in the garden and deck...it looks surprisingly
Christmasy.....lol

And my black petunias are overflowing with blossoms, I just love the simplicity of them sitting
in their giant tcup container and on a gingham table....

Yes my mornings are full .....Today I have an appt early with my supply company...and this afternoon I am going to work on some new Island Stools I picked up....I am going to re-upholster them when I return...more on them later...

YOU matter.

HOW much sugar have you already consumed today....CHECK HERE For the ANSWER

Too much FRUCTOSE in our diet actually shuts down the BRAIN telling us when we are full. Which means, YOU keep eating and eating and eating... YOUR brain actually thinks you have not eaten at all ( why so many of you are always hungry)  read more.....

  5. My hydrangea bloomed nicely this year. Mine are white tinged with pink and then they turn green! Such an interesting plant. Love your little oasis. Hope to restore mine when I am more confident the drought is over.

  7. Embracing every JOY in each day is something I am doing more and more. It is the smallest of things that can bring the biggest of Joys...like your beautiful white gardens of blooms, and the Joy of Sumatra and TCup. Beginning each day with Joy allows us to enjoy more of the balance of our day. Thank you dear...

  9. Samm I absolutely love how contained your garden is - while there is so much I love about living on a lake the fact is that it's never private. I have neighbors on both sides with only chain link fencing to separate us. And the lake can't be controlled at all - people come by at the oddest times. Even though it's a long way out onto the water where they are I still know they're there.... Your flowers are so gorgeous that they just call out to be touched and smelled. :) blessings, marlene

    1. I lived by the water for awhile when i was young...I could never forget the smells and dampness...so I always swore I would never live anywhere unless it was near a forest....it is so damp in Canada next to your climate...I do like the privacy of it all...nobody can see us anymore...lol we are really protected from the elements too....your place is picture perfect though....a nice oasis...
