Postcrossing...LOVE postcards, check this out...

A very dear friend of mine in Europe, Russia to be exact.... Claudette was one of my boarding sisters-- well we  connected as we do several times a year.. and  she shared with me this Postcrossing site. I was certainly intrigued...

I designed my own postcard, they are just getting printed now...So I registered and was
given 5 names and profiles of amazing people whom I will send this postcard ,with a code on the back of the card, so they can enter it and I in turn will get 5 postcards from different people around the world...What a lovely gesture, what a lovely way to meet new people around the world and spread some EXCITEMENT....

You get 5 random names and addresses , so far I have two young ones, who sound so spirited and 3 very sweet ladies .....I am excited to get this going...

Here are some stats today ....

Postcrossing Stats

553,093 members
215 countries
433 postcards/hour
29,850,497 postcards received
448,979 postcards traveling
151,161,290,580 km traveled
3,771,960 laps around the world

If you need some help in a design of a postcard, I will help you out, I will do the design  and text and then send you the file so you can go to vistaprint and get them printed... Think of something that shouts out YOU.... madamesamm@icloud.com with the message...NEED A POSTCARD.

And someday you may even get my POSTCARD..

 LETS PLAY SPOT THE DIFFERENCES?

And on a different NOTE....you have to see this and the story behind it....

A sweet friend of mine, you may know her, WELLLLLL she sent me a photo of this CHINA BUFFET that she had been searching for years....That was on Saturday of last week...
I said to her " you have to ask the UNIVERSE, what you want and you will be surprised at what will turn up". I don't think she believed me....wink...

NO WORD OF A LIE, within MINUTES she found one very similar below.........As soon as I saw hers, I was in love....I wanted one too....I did not think about it again  until Wednesday of this week when I went into our local Antique shop and asked the owner for a piece of paper....I drew exactly what I was looking for..... Cindy the owner, looks at me funny and asks if I was there earlier?

She motions me to the back of the store and look, a similar one....I BOUGHT IT!

My sweet friend will be painting hers in white and I will be stripping and staining it in black.....highlights will be provided over the summer.

OHHHHHH something else that was similar....the PRICE, she paid $190.00 and I paid $225...with the exchange and all...THAT IS THE EXACTlY same PRICE...lol

So can you spot the differences? and later go go google and check out 1930's china buffets...
Both of us have never seen 2 alike well until this week...Isn't this the most amazing thing EVER?

I have been saying FOREVER, be careful what you ask for in life, because the UNIVERSE ( which is made of lots of energy, electrons, protons, neutrons ......travels) is listening....
Just imagine the possibilities ? YOU just have to ask in a very loving and giving way... and things just happen....they happen to me almost every day........

Ohhh and the Universe to all those who have been writing me is not our heavenly creator ( although he is pretty amazing too) ...NOPE .....The UNIVERSE is what makes everything in our world MOVE....love, hate, despair, surprise, happiness...YOU choose....I know many think this is WEIRD...but let me just say, I have been doing this for many decades....
People say I am lucky..NOPE, not at all. Things do happen when you know how to ask for it PERFECTLY...wink..

ps. hers is on the left..and mine is still in the antique shop ( where I took the photo)
it will be delivered next week.

  4. They do look very similar. :) Yours has quite a bit more wood scroll work (I think that's what it's called... hubby is off at our community garden plot so I can't ask him.) If they had a gender, I'd say Cori's is the man and yours is the lady of the pair. :) Have fun giving them a new life.

I love the postcard idea. It's bit like the penpals we used to have back in the 70s.

    1. HI supermom ...yes there are similarities and you picked up on a couple...but there are many, the arrow wood pieces so carefully set on each panel, the darkening of the centre of the bottom drawer, the feet ....the scroll tops..many are flat....we were both pretty awe struck lol

  10. Well this has been a wonderful International Friendship week for you!! The Buffet is Gorgeous!! No need to strip though you can use Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and paint away. No prep required! This is what we use in the Studio everyday. When you get a chance you can FB us, Courtyard Studio 721. I am also pretty sure there must be a Stockist in your area as well. Also with your enjoyment of painting, you might want to check out Paint~eze. My Boss designed these containers and we love them to keep our Paint in, and you can throw the can to the Curb!
Thanks for sharing this wonderful Post!! Have a Beautiful Memorial Day week end!!

I am so excited to have finally found mine....but I think yours is prettier! If we were closer....I would have to strike a deal with you for a trade. I absolutely love all the extra details. It really is a gorgeous piece Samm. Can't wait to see your progress!
