Garden ruffles- BLACK Pansies.- Paper Ladies Update for JUNE

If you have been following me for any time, you will know I have an affinity
for RUFFLES ...  A week ago these amazing ruffled GARDEN GLOVES
came with a matching sun hat...NECESSARY TOOLS for any gardener..
WElllll they got plenty of use this weekend...
I am so grateful for the stitching hands of these gems...

WE did a lot of gardening on the weekend and we are far from over..
Turns out our warm weekend was just a tease...it is so cool this morning
2C we had to take many of our plants in last evening so they would not catch a COLD..
ACHOOO....

So yesterday, after seeing what is springing up in our garden, everything is kind
of dormant at the moment....I drove to our local nursery and look what I FOUND.

BLACK perenial pansies....EVEN though I insist on an all white garden.
BLACK is not on the colour spectrum so I am going to work
with these DELICIOUS pansies and make a GINGHAM garden...
black, white, black, white...
(you get it )
OHHH and bonus these are edible  too..
I will be planting them once and each year they will come back.
worth their price for sure...I purchased quite a few for this effect..
and they will make interesting additions to our garden salads..

I have an herb garden, so I purchased some apple mint, and parsley, I already have basil
and oregano and toss int some GREENS and look my cosmos are already flowering..
I have over 20+ plants of those to plant later this week..
Even our landscapers heeded a warning to wait a few more days for the young plants..

This is the wheelbarrow full I picked up yesterday, this barrel is very deep,
let me say this will fill up at least 2 or our 6 gardens....

Here is a photo of our VIBURNUM wall in the west garden....they are still green...
it will be a few days before they open and reveal all white blossoms...there
are 6 Bushes and trees along this side of our garden....
( more pics to come once they POP)

And in the meantime, my JUNE PAPER LADY, so inspired by my garden
is also coming to life....

She made yet another PIN CUSHION doll...
she is gorgeous in every way....she has been
so busy, all I have been able to get done is 1 pergola and some gardening...wink...
Cori is becoming a master sculptor... I am bit behind in that area....
well at least for now...wink...

See you soon...

  1. Your flowers are simply gorgeous Samm. I can't wait to see them in their new gardens. You are creating such a lovely place to enjoy for the rest of the summer, and somehow you are doing up your June lady too? She is so pretty in her green dress. I am still looking for some fabric to start mine....nothing as pretty as yours though that is for sure! Are you sure you will not consider a swap????....lol.

    1. HI Kim, I took a class in gardening last year and another this year...I finally understood, that watering plants is just not enough.....like all living things, they need food too...I big reason
why my seedlings did not die this year, a reason why our garden is flourishing....they have what they need now...and I PRAY a lot lol

    1. HI sweet Pauline....we do have so much in common don’t we, funny we don’t have any problems with critters in our garden...maybe the cats and the critter ridder keeps them away..we have been very lucky I suspect, they don’t like all the peppermint we plant....look forward to seeing your garden..we have plenty more to do this weekend..

  25. I do love your white garden especially the Vibernum. That is one plant I do not have. I plan on checking if it can be grown easily in zone 6 or 7 because I haven't seen much of it around here. Your stitching is beautiful as always. I am very busy with Tammy Bags for Birthday presents. Remember how I was so afraid to try making one? Ha!!! Now, Everyone wants one for their birthday now...even my hairdresser!!!
I am hoping that Good Health is the order of the day for you and your beloved. I pray for David as God brings him to my mind.

    1. HI Suzanne....the recipe for chocolate milk one is and easy one, purchase a quart of you fav chocolate milk., pour into machine, that is it...lol YOU are a no reply blogger so I could not answer you directly...
all of the recipes I have used so far is juice and yogurt......

  27. Thank you for replying. I do not have a blog yet. I am signed in as a google account and thought that allowed access. I'll try your chocolate milk. I would have thought it would freeze solid. And do you mix your juice and yogurt equally?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. ahhh yes google plus is a problem for many Suzanne,.....chocolate milk freezes like a popsicle....
for juice and yogurt...I just add a tablespoon of vanilla yogurt to juice, it makes it creamy enough...
