Paper Ladies Day 2 of Stitching my February lady into LUSHNESS!

There is this incredible sense of peace and tenderness that I have found since
I was introduced back into Cross Stitching...

Mix that with the excitement with working with Cori and her Paper Ladies...
WELLLLLLL how can you not be swept in the celebration that each
month we are CELEBRATING YOU Birthday GIRL....?

I don't think I ever met a lady who pushes my creativity like she does..
WE both giggle like school girls...and we are often on the same wave
of excitement to show you all, that YOU can do this too...

This pattern will be available on March 11th....so gather your colours
we will help you to bring them to LIFE...

In the meantime on day 2 of stitching, I was so excited to find the perfect PINK cashmere
to go on her skirt...turned out it was too dark and did not go as well with her sweater...

So I chose some of my WHITE cashmere and mixed it with one strand of darker pink...
and using only half stitches, matched it perfectly....

Here I did a couple of rows and did not brush it, so you could see what it looks like before
a very special brush I found years ago ( found some more, and they are on order)  that is the perfect tool for raising the nap of the wool....Can you see the difference?

And see what she looks like now....well imagine her whole skirt like that...
She is just full of brilliance and lushness...
psst I almost love her as much as January's Paper Ladies..

Unlike counted cross stitch, whereby you cannot really jump around to stitch...when You have it sketched this way ( breaking all cross stitch rules again) I jumped over her sash and began stitching
her skirt, just to see if the colour would be perfect....

So here is what I learned, by using White CASHMERE, you can add a shade darker and come with a desired colour....love experimenting with colour. Colouring with FLOSS wellllllll can I just say
I am so loving the whole process....It is calming and it fills me with such delight each day...

Her skirt has not been brushed..when I complete all of her skirt, I will brush it up and you will note such a difference...

I may not get a lot of stitching done today as my beloved Man
has surprised me with concert tickets to the Piano Guys at the Sony Centre in
Toronto Canada this evening...

and these very talented musicians are from UTAH
same area as CORI...what a coincidence that is...wink...

This has been on our bucket list ever since Deonn introduced me to them
back 4 years ago. I do believe I have ever itune they have produced..
They are so MAGICAL... deepest gratitude to Deonn for sharing them with me...
so I can now with YOU..

ohh those are our seats... 3rd row from the stage....David is on the aisle
and I will be snuggled right beside him...

Listen to them here...
this is my favourite...
It just fills my heart with tears....

To a joyous weekend....
Filled with POSSIBILITIES...

  1. Your lady is so pretty. I love the half stitch cashmere for her sweater and skirt. I think I will do mine in cross stitch too.

  2. Samm the cashmere is just the loveliest touch - so soft and elegant. She's simply stunning already. And thanks for the music this morning. It was perfect for this cold day! blessings, marlene

  3. I can see how you're so excited with the "Ladies", Samm. I'm stitching my butterflies for my stepdaughter, but it's large picture and takes a lot longer to complete. Going to be lovely when it's done though, and I'm sure Allie will love it when she opens it at Christmas.

The music was beautiful! I'm going to check their CD's out and get one. Great to listen to while sewing.

  4. Oh my, just look at how beautiful she is Samm! I am having such a treasured time with you creating these beauties. I LOVE your cashmere...it is beautiful! Every time I see your progress I think, can she get more beautiful? and here you are surprising me each time. With all that stitching, you deserve a night out! Enjoy every minute!!! xx~Cori

  5. Your lady is quite lovely, Samm. I am so jealous of you getting to see that concert. I would love to see them perform one day. Ever since you introduced me to them, they are a favorite of mine. When my 2 1/2 year old grandson visits, he always asks to watch a couple of their videos on you tube. He loves the star wars one and the Christmas one of Angels We Have Heard on High. Their music is truly magic. Have a great time.

  6. I am loving the February Lady! The colors are perfect and the cashmere floss is amazing! Stitching is such a wonderful way to relax. My grandma and her sisters taught me to embroider, sew, crochet and knit and I always think of them when I stitch. I love the music - I am going to look them up, what talent! Enjoy the concert!
    Happy Stitching!

  7. You are right...this is perfect for you both! I love these!
Have a wonderful time with your sweet man!!!!

  9. Your February lady is looking divine! Have a great time tonight.

  10. Oh, this is beautiful. I talked to my primary care doctor yesterday and he suggested that I get a drop down jeweler's hood-like magnifier at the hardware store. So, this weekend that is on the errand list for my oldest grandson and me to try to accomplish; He told me his has one in his workshop at home and one in the office. One of his nurses used his to take out small stitches and was thrilled. I'll update you if I'm able to find it and how it works. I'm excited at a much more affordable, quicker, possible solution.

  11. How exquisite is that cashmere!? Beautiful. x

  12. I love the Piano Guys, listen to them all the time my daughter told me about them. what a wonderful hubby hope you had a super time. Love that cashmere it is so beautiful and gives lovely definition.
    Blessings Sandra

  13. I fell in love with these cashmere threads once and for all! It was smart to blend the threads to receive lighter pink colour )))) Your posts are inspiring!

  14. What a wonderful surprise! I'm sure you will have a great time at the concert!!
I love the cashmere threads, too!

  15. Wow! Thank you for introducing me to the Piano Guys. I have the video link playing in the background while I drool over your February lady! She looks gorgeous... Your idea of mixing pink and white together to get the right shade for her sweater is inspired... definitely this is painting with floss :o)
I hope that you enjoyed the concert!
    Hugs xx

  16. I think your lady is very pretty! I like your colours, roses and cashmere.

  17. Lovely lady. And tickets for the piano guys! Oh sigh! I received an autographed copy of their new cd for Christmas with a dvd. Love them! Missed the concert in Chicago but next time they are near I will be ready! Have fun
