Tree Bird blog hop....Let's Fly with the birds this March

Reminder...ANY BIRD FABRIC if you cannot locate
Beautiful Bird fabric...

I begin my days with the BIRDS...sitting by my window bench
with a steaming cup of coffee and these days a bowl of hot
oats...watching my birds feed....Even through the thick panes, I can
hear their melodies permeate the icy cold air...

I can be heard often singing this song from my youth..

See the pretty snowflakes- fallen from the sky.
Falling on the window sill -soft they tick they lie
Falling- falling- falling - from the sky
pure white snowflakes -soft they tick they lie…

Of Course David was laughing at my latest rendition this morning......

Sitting on my window bench- watching all my birds
sipping my hot coffee now- wondering where the turds? ( poop)
are falling- falling -falling on our deck
lots of cleanup- in the spring of next…..

So when.....

Elizabeth Studio shared Tracy Lizotte collection with me
I was ready to take flight with the birds...
Her paintings of the cardinals for instance are so lifelike but animated too..
Would make for a perfect quilt as I sit perched on my window seat
watching my birds each morning....

For those who sign up for this blog hop... Tracy will be sending one of you
these Cardinals print completely matted... will fit an 8 x 10 inch frame.
We will announce the winner when the blog hop begins....

Check out what she is doing now....she really is a lovely artiste!

As this collection is already in the stores for a few months, for those who cannot obtain
any of the collection you can choose  any fabric with BIRDS for your quilting project.

  1. I've sent my e-mail to Lana - I couldn't skip this hop if I wanted to. My mother loved birds so much that I think she would come back from Heaven and scold me if I did! blessings, marlene

  4. Beautiful fabric! My mother always said, "Feed the birds and you will never go hungry." She said her grandmother said this to her. As an avid bird lover, I would not miss this hop. Off to send an email to Lana! Thanks for hosting ... :) Pat

  5. I just used some of Tracy Lizotte's birds, apparently from an older collection, to make a prayer quilt for one of my aunts. The colors (and the fabrics I added), made a wonderfully peaceful and quietly joyful quilt. I'm sorely tempted to look for her new collection!

  6. Yes, I am jumping in! Thanks, enjoy your view! Take care, Leslie

  7. Oh!!!! Isn't this going to GRAND!!!!! I am so excited!!! Come on ladies! Let's FLY!!!!

  8. That fabric collection is so beautiful. I wish I could buy a yard of all of it. Unfortunately this will be a bad year for me for any quilting. My dog was diagnosed with a malignant cancerous tumor at age 10. She had a tumor removed 2 1/2 years ago in different location but this one is inoperable. She'll be starting chemo soon. I'd appreciate any puppy prayers from animal lovers. Thanks

    1. all the best for your pet...puppy prayers yes.....now if you happen to drop by again..leave an email as you are no reply blogger, we could not answer you directly

    2. Thank you for the prayers. I love seeing your blog. I didn't know I was set as no reply but I don't know how to change it. Have a wonderful Sunday

    3. google plus erases your email and you come in as a no reply blogger...leave your email here...so at least I can put you up when your name comes up, I will be able to reply..or send it directly to me at madamesamm@me.com

    4. So sorry to hear about your puppy - how is she doing? I raise Bernese Mountain Dogs and they are far to often hit with cancer - I know firsthand the journey you are facing. We have you and your pup in our prayers! Bigs paws & tail wags to all!

  9. And the Swissie will also join, LOL :-)

  10. Such a beautiful collection!! I'm certainly looking forward to seeing all the lovelies that the participants make. :)

  11. Sounds like fun, sending my email to Lana!

  12. I tried to resist adding another project to my list, but failed. (I think I have visited the Elizabeth Studios website 4 or 5 times just to see these beauties again since this blog hop was first announced.) I ordered the fabrics and emailed Lana. This is going to be so much fun!

  13. Love the cardinals. I see them in so many creative works in the US but we don't have them here in Australia. Would love to see one in person. Oh well, we can dream!

  14. Love the tweet birds. I can't wait. ;)

  15. I skipped the coffee hop as I don't do coffee but I cannot resist this one. We love the birds that sing so beautifully for us every morning here on the farm. I have been wanting to make a wallhanging for our master bath in something nature-like. This is it!! Hubby will adore this hop as well!

  16. Just ordered my fabric from Etsy shoppes. Took 2 shops to get exactly what I wanted but so glad I found it. :)

Ebay also has some sellers with a few of the prints. Just type in a search for Beautiful Birds from Elizabeth's Studios

  17. Oh I love Tracy Lizotte's art!! Before I quit facebook I was one of her many followers. I will definitely have to look for her fabric collection. Now I just need to think of something really cool to make using birds. And I may include some embroidered birds from my Vintage Embroidery Monday patterns. Thinking, thinking, the wheels are a turning... lol.

  18. I would love to join the blog hop!

  19. Love the button and the fabric. Wonderful birds. so many ideas so little time.

  20. Well, coming from Ohio, you bet those cardinals caught my eye. I wish I had the technical skills to join in. (or even the money to buy more fabric) I do have some small birds on some of my stash but ...
I'm sure I will enjoy seeing what everyone comes up with.

  21. Love that fabric! I am going to look for the birdhouse panel as my sewing room is in a birdhouse theme.

  22. I contacted Lana right away on Saturday to let her know I'm ready to fly! How fun!

  23. I have a parrot that sits on my shoulder all day long and he's up first thing in the morning asking for peanuts =))

  24. I sent in my name a few days ago and hope I get in! Already bought a way over prices piece of Alexander Henry pink bird seed fabric to make a quilt that's been on my to do list for years. Thanks for the motivation!!!

  25. I've been accepted!!! Can't wait to start! I love everything to do with nests and birdhouses.

  26. Still riding the fence as to whether or not to sign up. House still hasn't sold yet. Hubby is in IL living out of hotel and I'm in TX. Urgh! Hate the waiting game and living in limbo.

  27. Think I will be able to handle this in March. Mother should be out of rehab by first of March, so my twice a week road trips will be reduced to only once a week. And, my eyesight is much improved...except for cross stitch..I am back working on two Quilts of Valor and way too many UFO. So, ready to Hop.

  28. I had been thinking about this one and was leaning towards "no" up to this afternoon when I was with my Friend Donna and we happened to hit Joann's. Well.... looks like I'm in for this one. Between the half yard of filigere owls and a group bird pattern called Backyard Birds that was 40% off, it looks like destiny stepped in and proved the fabrics and the patterns for this Blog Hop. So please add my name in and add me to the Bottom of the list so that I can get my little bird done in time .... pretty please & Thank You.

  29. I am "sew" in for this! I have fabric and a pattern that should have been done for last Christmas with beautiful Cardinals. Now I have the motivation to do this! Sending in my email right away ☺

  30. Hi Madamme Samme! I want to join in on this if it's still open. I've sent an email to Lana but haven't heard anything back from her. I'd love to participate in this hop since I do have some more birdie projects in mind that I'd like to do.

  31. Hope I can still join, I have the panel. Will look for some of the others. I love the whole line.

    1. patti, not sure you will see this but you are a no reply blogger..and I am not sure you have a blog...can you send an email to lana .....

  32. I'm another Ohioan on the list, and starting the project today. Can't wait!

    Julie @ Pink Doxies

  33. Purchased my fabric today! Will be getting busy next week!

You think they are just words...they are sew much more than that...your wee messages tell me, you are kind, smart and important...
