.WE SUPPORT YOU....

WE SUPPORT them more than they know....WE all know someone battling CANCER, especially our dear friends who have breast cancer... WELL this hop will be for THEM...

I have the pattern completed and we have PAT from Scrapatches who will lead us into cheer...
Pat has been a wonderful cheerleader through the years for many of us....And she is the PERFECT choice for this hop....

Recently I got some  sad news about some very special ladies in our quilting family who are battling BREAST CANCER....As Cancer seems to touch many of our lives, I kept thinking of the inspiration we could provide by creating a GIANT BRA, quilted, stitched, embroidered, appliquéd...whatever you would like to do...

I was thinking for the NEW YEAR, I would provide you with the pattern as I have already created a 3 feet by 2.5 feet pattern.....BRA...( it would be offered  FREE to all those who participate)

YOU could make it into a  quilt, pillow,  BAG for carting all their notions to their treatments, wall hanging....that will be up to you...I suggest a blog theme  " WE will support you" or " I will support you" ....I will also  provide you with these one liners if you want them embroidered... I also will include the hanger with whatever LETTER you want to stitch.
( the pattern actually has all of them) -if your friend's name begins with J...then you would get this letter J to add to top of hanger...or you can use your first initial, if you plan to give it  to someone someday... The file will have everything you need....

Of course my mind is already thinking gingham, ruffles..no surprise there....

Will you SUPPORT OUR LADIES? Would you love to participate in this BLOG HOP!

Think about the LIFT we could give to all of our dear friends....

This is a friendship quilt I had designed and with the help of many sweet ladies, we created this last year for Linda, who had lost her home to a fire...we wanted to remind her we would always be there supporting her...She loves orange so we all created orange bras...it was a stellar collaboration....

So the BRA would look like this except it would be 10 times larger...

What do you think ladies....feeling creative...feeling supportive, feeling the JOY we could share with others....? I certainly am....

I know of 4 ladies who have BREAST CANCER that will certainly be touched by this...
I am sure there are many others, if you let me know ...we will dedicate this hop to them..

The pattern for WE SUPPORT YOU is like this one above..JUST LARGER.
you can make it any size you like..

Pat will require the following from you...

  8. I am still loving MY supportive quilt, although I didn't have breast cancer, it gave me so much joy in the aftermath of the fire. I will certainly try to participate in this one although my life is a whirlwind until the end of January. What a great idea!

  11. I would be thrilled to make one or more of these quilts, I volunteer almost daily for an organisation that make quilts for cancer victims in our province of New Brunswick, Canada. We have the highest # of cancer cases in all of the Canadian provinces and we are one of the smallest areas. Thank you for this great idea.

  12. I would love to help. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 35. I thank the Lord that I am now cancer free at age 46. I am also here to offer any other support I can give. Having been there once before. I know that things are different for all of us but if anyone needs someone to talk to I am here to listen and answer any questions about my experience. Wonderful idea :)

  15. I am a bit nervous, as this would be my first blog hop and I have not made many traditional quilts. However, I would love to participate. The timing of the topic for this blog hop made me smile. I just ordered a few fat quarters of Riley Blake Designs Think Pink fabrics to make a small gift for my husband's cousin, who was diagnosed with breast cancer this year. I love the idea of making a quilt just for her. Please count me in.

  17. My aunt was diagnosed with breast Cancer in the '70's and she is now in her 80's and still doing well. I've also had several coworkers who are survivors and a positive attitude is a great too. My aunt loves golfing and I used to say "keep on swinging" to encourage her to do her exercises.

I memory of my friends who successfully fought successfully I'd be happy to participate with you.

    Thanks for the challenge.

  24. I'd love to support this cause - My mother in law and many women in her family have battled breast cancer.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm happy to report that I don't have any friends or family currently battling...but I would still like to participate in this beautiful movement
    !

  26. Thank you for thinking of us who have battled or are battling the big C. It is a scary disease even when you have support. Making decisions about treatment/no treatment, surgery/no surgery, are very personal and one only you can make. I feel I did the right thing for ME!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Question. Is this a blog hop or are we making quilts or quilt blocks to give to BC victims?

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'd love to participate too! My mom is a BC survivor and too many others have or are going through this.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I love this idea! Unfortunately, most of us have been touched by breast cancer. This is a great way to show our support. I'm in!!!

  30. I may be sending this comment twice...just in case, here goes again. I would definitely like to participate in this one. Great idea. (This comment was created on my NEW MacBook Air ).

  31. Samm, how awesome you are!! You have a great heart!

  32. A wonderful idea Samm. I will of course participate. There will always unfortunately that will need support because of the big C.

  33. I lost a friend to complications of cancer and heart disease. It would be an honor to take part in this hop as a tribute to her. Thank you for coming up with this.

  34. I lost my mom to breast cancer 8 treats ago. I want to make one in honor of her. She was a quilter in her lasted years and I quilt because of her.... I miss my mom. 😢

  35. My step mother fought and won against breast cancer, with the help of a double mastectomy. I would love to make something in honor of her victory! ( I lost my father a mere 13 mths later to brain cancer and 13 yrs ago, I lost my step father to lung cancer. So I am familiar with both sides of this devastating disease.)

  36. This just brought tears to my eyes. I am having a lumpectomy on the 17th and of course we are all hoping and praying for good news. After all the anxiety my family and I have been through I would love to make these and donate them to our local breast cancer clinic for others that are living with this dreadful disease.

What a great way to show our support as we are all touched one way or another by those fighting cancer. count me in.

  38. Hi Mdm Samm! I never participate in your blog hops because I don't have a blog and the deadlines scare me! However breast cancer has touched so many families, so many women AND men and I would like to purchase the pattern to be able to make one for an Aunt and her 2 daughters who have all had breast cancer (and 3rd daughter had throat cancer and was the first to leave us). My sister also had BC and well, just so many people I know... (BTW, I see my name is on that quilt...I 'd forgpttem that! I sure do love following Linda's blog...) Let me know....thanks for all you do, cuz you MAKE us matter!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. This is such an amazing idea, Mdm Samm! Your generosity and compassion is boundless! I know many people personally who have been touched by this horrible disease. I'll be following your hop to see everyone's work. Someday I may have my own blog and be able to hop with you!

  40. I think this is s stellar idea, and would love to participate. I fortunately do not know anyone with breast cancer and would love it if you had a name of someone, who might like me to support her!

  49. My hectic schedule for the January just got changed! (My family is coming for the next two weeks instead! Yikes! I have to get busy!) If there is still room, I am now free to participate in both these hops! I did send Mary and Pat my details along with the request. Yay! i'm excited!
I am LOVING my supportive bra quilt! It will have a position of honor in my new sewing room.

  52. I am definitely in the We Support you Hop. Tomorrow evening I will attend a Xmas dinner in celebration of BC Survivors. In our small area of NS we expect to have 80 survivors in attendance for a fun time. And that is only the tip of the iceberg. Great idea.

  53. I am in this blog hop, you know it is hard for me to resist challenges. It should be fun to make something for a good cause. By the way I love your Christmas banner.
