I think I am ready for MONDAY....I Borrowed an Angel....

Now really what are you waiting for....IT IS MONDAY, get up, and smell the coffee, tea .....
The world is RIGHT THERE ready to smack a smile upon your face....." If you want to be HAPPY. BE" WHAT? ( ok let me explain)

I have to share something with you.....this weekend I came across a box filled with one liners that I had been keeping for decades...I had this wonderful Mentor, his name was Paul. He was what some call today a LIFE COACH...then -we called them Mentors. He would help me in everything business. When I was fast tracking in medical/surgical to big Pharma, he guided me...He always knew what to say when I needed it most... be it personal, or finance, or relationships and yes business too.
I really owe all of my success to him. ( and his notes) He was there for me for 22 years. He sent me hundreds of notes.

He believed in one liners, he believed in mail, you know real mail, an envelope with a stamp on it. The ones that get delivered by real post offices. Well Paul would hand write me these one LINERS....Sometimes I would get 1 a week, other times 3 ... I never knew when they would come, but I will tell you each time they did, he made me stop and  think....

WEllllll, I found his  4 x3 cards,  ( he called them note cards) way before tablets and iphones....
Anyway on these note cards, he would write my name and always just a ONE LINER ...and signed it simply-Paul.

Well yesterday ( Sunday)  I came across HIS BOX.... I guess he knew I needed to be reminded of a few things. I thought I would share some with you ...

"If you want to be HAPPY . BE" (I actually shared this one with a lovely lady just yesterday)

" A smile came across my lips today, my thought was of you"  ( I have used this often, cause he said it often to me when he would call me on the phone- he knew how to make me feel special)

" When someone is cross to you, they are more angry with themselves, it's not about YOU, remember that ."

" Call only one person each day, make them feel like they are the only person in the world to you."

" Never wear a watch, trust your inner clock." ( ok , I use a timer instead wink)

" Tell someone today how much they bring out the best in you."

"Never second guess yourself, your first thought is the correct one."

" Happy people do not make other people UNHAPPY."

" A failure is only a failure if you give up."

" You cannot win if you never play the game."

These were all on the top....I thought perhaps they were the ones I was to share...after all- one of them was "don't second guess"....So Paul was probably right.....

It made me think of all the things WE CREATE, our THREAD NOTES, what they mean to us when we make them, what they mean to those who get them....

So tomorrow we will be celebrating MANY Thread notes in the form of small projects...
everyone on the list had to make something for the next person and that person will be showcasing their gift as well as some small projects they created...

Let's all remember how our SWEET NOTES to them in form of comments can also make a difference....Look at what decades of one liners has done for us all this morning... So no more excuses of you don't have time...MAKE TIME....7.2 minutes per day that will change someones world.....

I miss Paul, the heavens called him over a decade ago. I think of him almost every day! And still
he lives in my heart and I get to share a bit of him with YOU. So he is still HERE....

YOU so matter..

  3. You can get more across in a one liner sometimes than you can a whole paragraph. Love the 'If you want to be happy... BE."

Have a wonderful day Madame Samm!

  5. What a wonderful sounding friend/mentor. We don't often meet people that stay in our lives and hearts for ever outside family.

  6. Paul must have been a wonderful friend, how nice to receive such liners regularly! I am really looking forward to seeing all the projects for this hop, I am sure the nights and days will get even more shorter, so many "wish-to-do-things" will be shown.....
Have a great day, Lady Samm, we have a lot of fog today, ideal to stay at home and bake cookies with my kiddies! The cookies are cooling down on the tray and we are all waiting for 4 p.m. when the two elder sons are coming back from school, it will be "un vrai régal"!
    Hugs

  19. What a wonderful post to see to start my Monday with. As Paul was a mentor and encourager to you, YOU have been the same to so many of us. There have been many times that you've encouraged me to just "try"....and you may not even know that you did that. Have a great week, and thank you for sharing "Paul" with us. He sounds like he was a wonderful, giving person. :)

  22. As you learn, so shall you teach. Paul was one of your borrowed angels, thank you for sharing this angel with us.
When my mother was in her last years with alzheimers I used many one liners.. We could have a wonderful conversation/ discussion that relied on her great intelligence, and not on her fading memories. Have a great week Samm.

Paul would be proud that he had a hand in helping you to spread his message to so many of us. You have made a huge difference in my life with your thoughtful messages and advice. 29. Words.... touch the soul. I have always loved words and little sayings. One sentence can say so much sometimes. I am going to start a box of words. I am always just scribbling a thought on some random paper. I never had a mentor, sad about that some days when I feel like I'm floundering, but I meet with 7 little girls at church every 2 weeks. I think I'll start sending them words to think about. We could all use some encouragement along life's weary way. A little bit of Hope to be everything we were created to be. You bless my days Madame Samm.
    Thank you. Janita

  32. Dear Samm, I loved this post. Paul is still with you. As you know, those who are gone are all here with us. They left a mark, a memory, a smile, perhaps many smiles, and many memories. We too are creating memories each and every day. I hope that something I did today made someone smile, and left a happy memory! You Matter! That very comment makes me smile each time I see you have came to visit, and left a comment for me. Now I must say to anyone who might read this comment. If Madame Samm has (TAKES) the time to leave a comment for everyone who visits her, WE all have, (and can take) the time too! You see Samm, you have inspired me once again! XOXOXO Christel

  34. Such a wonderful thought provoking post. I agree with Marlene that 'Mentors become family'! For me this is so true, and I am so grateful God has placed them on my yellow brick road of life. I so gravitate towards positive people and their outlooks, life is rough and having that positive energy surrounding us makes every day so much easier. I had such a stressful Sunday with something that now is fixed but it has set my week back another whole day, so now I just re did my weekly calender to meet the deadlines I am committed to and the other appointments will have to wait til another day, and that's Ok. Thanks do much for always sending something wonderful in my day, you may at times not know that you did, but you did! YOU MATTER!
    Huggs, Nancy
