A heart worth sharing...NEEDLEPOINT GINGHAM Pattern!

I have some projects that will keep me busy over the summer ....
I will be working on at least 3 for our see you in September hop..

Shari is cheering us on for this one....and already she is so
worthy of her POM POMS...

Meanwhile, I have to gather some ideas...
here is one I will be working on...

I have been searching for some patterns in needlepoint
to keep my hands busy over the summer...
and certainly not without trying I could not locate
a simple gingham heart... how shocking ? lol

I know for those who are not as gingham obsessed as I am....
my apologies...you can stop reading right now wink....
For those who are enjoying my gingham journey...carry on ....

 I ordered the needlepoint canvas...
drew a heart, painted it,
chose some wool I gathered from my stash...
and I am ready....

I have made 2 of these, one to practice on first
to see if this wool will work....

Yes my photos are in the wrong order, aren't they?
This is where I painted using acrylic paint that I watered down, so it would not plug
up the stitching holes..

But I am trying to hurry this post, I have a DATE today...
I am heading out to get my hair done and  then I am meeting with my beloved
and we are heading out to a TASTING....
An event whereby 20-25 chefs create their fav dish and we get to sample them...
I feel like a kid I am so excited....
CREATING memories....

This is where I drew my heart, and using my ruler marked all the lines in a HD pencil....

I chose these wools for my sample piece to see if these will work...

My Santa, is coming along nicely....I still have the left, top and bottom to fill with
white wool....I think I will outline him after I get with some black thread to give
him a bit more depth...

Sneak Peak  of my project...

Looking for inspiration on RBD newest Quilted Cotton
fabric collection..

  2. The rules of painting, so true. Your Santa looks so cute and I agree, lining him hit black will show him off more. Ah, tasting.....can I go? :)

  4. Yum Yum! A tasting event with your sweetie and some heartfelt gingham! I'm loving it! The santa is so lovely. I've never tried my hand at needlepoint, just embroidery and counted cross stitch.

  7. What a cute Heart! I don't know much about Needlepoint, my Mom did it. Do the Backgrounds usually come in a colored Pattern? I know it will be quite striking when it's complete. Just like Santa!! Love Tastings, I hope you two had a great time, they are so festive and fun!

Anxious to see your Color Tour Project!!

  9. Your needlepoint is going to be lovely! I haven't done needlepoint in 30 years! I should dust off my needles! I always loved the way the finished design looks like part of the fabric! I hope the tasting went well! How fun!
