Me oh My I love PIE...do you ?

My family knows how much I LOVE Lemon Meringue and they also know that David loves
Chocolate Cream Pie...and as much as they would have loved to surprise us with a bake shop rendition, sadly for them....MUMM makes it better... Sooooo my sweets gathered all the ingredients so I could cook and bake some today....

Would you believe these are just 6 INCH pies....more than enough for a serving...I would only eat 1/2 of mine at a sitting saving it for another day...but DAVID wellllll no way, he will eat it all tonight..
not both but one certainly.

Now I won't tell you that my first batch of Lemon filling I mistook the egg whites for the lemon juice and rind and had to start again...I won't tell you that....but I will say, on my second attempt, it came out perfectly....

They are now in the Fridge to cool for supper....David is cooking Sword Fish and the rest of my day will be spent out in the garden.....watching the buds open up....and they are....

So this is how I did it all....I had to grate some chocolate on David's pies...they looked soooo naked..

Hope your day is filled with sweetness.....

Our IRON winners....have not gotten back to me....guess they are really busy with being MUMMS today....

Share will you...what is your favourite PIE?

  1. As I leave for the airport to pick up my dear sweet momma, I will tell you my mom is the best pie maker on earth! I have never really liked cakes or cookies, but pies, oh my, are the best! What is my favorite? Undoubtedly.....rhubarb! Rhubarb pie, warm, with vanilla ice cream......mmmmmm!

  6. Well, pumpkin of course. One of my brother's used to always sing "me, oh, my, how I love my mother's pumpkin pie". Me, add whipped cream atop my 9" pie and pass me a fork. When I was younger (and not so easily affected by huge amounts of sugar LOL) I could polish off the whole pie, by myself, in one serving, and usually did =) Tonight it was steak, sweet potato, baked potato, carrots, yellow & green beans, niblet corn, fried onions and mushrooms for supper with ice cold watermelon for dessert.

  7. My husband made chocolate and coconut pies for our bake sale at church today. He actually took pre-orders. He makes the best pies! I love chocolate the best.

  8. Those are our two favorites! Can you share where you got the recipe? My boys love chocolate pie but when we make it, it does not turn out as good as the bakery's. Happy Mother's Day!

  13. Lemon Meringue, then it would be Peach. But Really like my Grandpa used to say - there's really only two kinds of pie I like: Hot and Cold. :) And that's pretty much true for me too.

  14. I have a few favorites: Coconut Custard, cherry, blueberry, and pecan. I still remember a nectarine pie my mother used to make back in the day when jello was a food...it was refreshing on a hot Florida evening.

  16. Yummy pies! I love homemade apple pie done with lots of layers of very thin slices. Top it with some aged cheddar and vanilla ice cream. Warm or cold, it's the best.

  17. Your little pies look divine ! I don't bake many pies, but I do love them...you see, if one is here on the premises, it calls out to me..."come get a piece" all day long until it's gone. You know what they say....a moment on the lips-forever on the hips ! BUT, my favorite kind is.....chocolate !

  18. I love cute little mini pies! Yours look wonderful!
My favorite is probably apple. (Or maybe peach - I love the tartness from fresh peaches.) Hmmm.....The crust is my favorite part! I also love coconut, but an egg allergy keeps me from eating it. (I have learned to make my own without eggs, though, and it is yummy!)

  23. Oh my Husband would say "I'll be right there for Lemon Meringue Pie" and he would even pay for it! I did get him a Box of Lemon Shortbread Cookies this week end though, and they are so Lemony!! I don't purchase store bought cookies only fresh from the Bakery, and it happen to be a New Bakery in town. Your meal yesterday sounds fabulous, I hope your Mother's day was just as good!
