A QUILT DUVET the needed warmth for an office DAY BED!

WE are away for a few days and as I was packing some
necessary comforts, I was reminded how warm our Duvets are...
Here I was struggling on what QUILT to make for my day bed..
and although I had the pattern completely designed and I was ready
to put it together....( which was my muse for my decor)
mmmmmm why not make a QUILT DUVET...???
I already have all the materials for duvet making...as I established
this company since 1994.

As my office is coming together nicely...what is really missing
is some WARMTH....and as my office is in the basement in our home..
Not your typical basement....but certainly very comforting...
it is quite cool sometimes, especially the winter months
since our home is built on clay....it really holds the cold,
even through the summer months...

Soooo here I am under a Sofa Duvet and relishing the warmth
it brings, that is it...when I get home, I will be constructing
a quilt top with a pocket so I can slip a custom sized duvet
bleached and processed goose down ...
YEP that is what I will do...

Before we left, I did manage to design these
black and white gingham curtains, complete
with self covered buttons..
It is a smaller print than my valence...
and it just screams French Country...

And since we were so inspired by my office..
we decided to follow the theme into our water closet
across from my office...

These are the only 2 photos I had on my laptop...
but I think you get the picture...
The strawberry lithograph was our inspiration
for our decor here...I found this great
shelf and hook piece, it was painted red..
so I repainted it and filled the photo blocks
with Martha Stewart cover photos of different fruits...
Compliments the room perfectly..

Ahhh I can hear David stirring, our day is planned
with some village shopping and breakfast at our
very favourite spot... must run...

We are recharging after a pretty eventful couple months!

soooooo toddles....I do believe
my superpower will have something to do with....

Well you will see...

p.s we have intermittent connection
so please forgive me if I don't get back
to you within 24-48 hours..

who would like an update)

  6. Your space is beautiful and so inviting! Enjoy!

  7. Wow! this is just amazing. You guys do great work in short amount of time.
Love the matching bathroom to your office room.

  8. All is looking so good. Love all of your decorating. Keep up the good work. You are inspiring me.

  9. Ahhhh, it's lovely! I can't wait to see your quilt duvet. What a wonderful, creative idea! Enjoy your time away, and get some much needed rest. You certainly deserve it. :)

  10. We certainly all need a recharge once in awhile. A little romantic recharge, as well. Duvets are so cozy and warm, perfect for a day bed, indeed.

  11. How cozy! I love your Duvet! What a great idea. You did a lot of hard work, I know, we used to buy homes, fix them up and sell them. We did all the work ourselves except the roof. You deserve a quiet time with your husband. Have fun and enjoy yourself.

  12. Looks great, have fun, you certainly deserve some time to recharge and re-energize. Hope you guys are getting the same beautiful sunshine we are getting here today! Love a duvet, looking forward to hearing and seeing more!

  13. It is so very lovely and is perfectly fitting for you. I am looking forward to seeing the duvet cover. I'll need a re-charge about June 1st after my baby graduates from high school. Maybe my recharge will be needed more after he leaves for college instead. I'm off to stitch on my superpower! :)

  14. Delightfully girly :) and grown up all in one little space. Love the strawberries in the bathroom. Thanks for sharing. Janita

  15. Your office is looking fantastic! And I'm really into the strawberries you have in the restroom, they fit so well. Thanks for the last hop by the way, I don't think I got to comment on your "winey" flag, which would fit quite well in our region by the way! Walla Walla wine country, still amazes me how much it has boomed in the area. Anyway, enjoy your vacation!

  16. Love all the extra work you did and the beautiful color combination, sew bight and cheery! Enjoy your mini vacation . My office really need a make over, may move the chase lounge from the bedroom. Thank you for all of your inspiration.

  17. Heartily approve of the decor. Have a great time away.

  19. We both grew up with Goose Down Duvet's made by Mother's and Grandmothers and still use them today as do our children. Your Day Bed would look perfect with one on it and I can't wait to see the completed piece!! Have a Lovely Holiday~
