a special ruffled day despite a snow storm here...

donors who contributed to the back of Linda's quilt...

You may have remembered back in the late fall
had a terrible fire, completely wiped out their home…

WElllllll I began getting many requests for
"what are WE going to do?"
Sooooo being that everyone was waiting for me to do something….lol
…I began my search
for friendship quilts but did not like any that were available..

Sooooo.
I came up with this design…
( working on the pattern that will be released very soon)
in fact I have 3 in the series..
and with a whole lot of very creative ladies
and donors….

Came up with this…
WE SUPPORT YOU

Linda's in receipt of this today….
She is thrilled…

( and there are some ruffles on some of those bras too)

This could not have been possible without sooooo many lovely
ladies who wanted to SUPPORT LINDA too…
We had Kris who did the embroidery tag on the bottom
all of the ladies who created bras on the front…
donors on the back…I made the very large one there wink…
and Lana did the piecing and quilting and Pauline did the binding…

It was a LOVING Quilting community effort and
now I can thank you all publicly for showing how big your heart really is….

Linda loves orange, so I had asked everyone to do make an applique bra and to embroider using black presencia threads for the hanger with her Initial and add their spin to such a lovely choice of SUPPORT HOLDERS….

I chose a lovely grey print from RILEY BLAKE DESIGNS, that just snapped it all into place …

These photos were taken in 23-30 below Zero weather…..the wind was sooo strong that day, I just had to lay the quilt  down and the winds held it up..The farmer who loved that I chose his fence for this photo shoot said I could come back anytime and place bras there…….Thanks Larry!

Again, thanks to everyone who made this possible and showed Linda how much we support her..

All the names were placed under each bra who created it…all donors who made a monetary contribution were also added to the back….. YOU make my heart melt…..now if we only we could do something about all of this SNOW …lol

  5. I can just barely imagine how Linda feels to know that she has the support of folks like you. I picture laughter amid the tears, and a boost toward believing that everything will all work out in time.

I can see possibilities for making a great breast cancer support quilt, also. Can you imagine auctioning one of these off at a breast cancer benefit? Would love to know when your pattern is ready. Count me in.

  10. So happy that Linda has received her quilt. This has been so many months in the making with all the folks taking part needing to be corraled to do their part. Thrilled that you have come up with a series of quilts since you were right, not many out there for this sort of love quilt. Can't say that for long, LOL. THX for heading this up for our little community.

Thank you again for being there for us in sew many different ways you are a gem. and hats off to the ladies that helped with this lovely support quilt, for a quilter in need.
