By the way, this ornament is on it's way to our home…

And we have another JUST WAITING FOR ONE OF YOU!

It started HERE…..each year we purchase a
Hallmark Keepsake Ornament
that reminds us of something about our YEAR.

Wellll a lot happened this year….but I could not find any BLANKS..
or BLANK….sooooo I thought, why not an UGLIE SWEATER ornament..

MY David asked me to make one for an office party in a couple of weeks..
And I hesitated, because I don't really do UGLie..
I can barely spell it, forget about creating something UGLie.
Why would I?

WElllll I need help…if ever you created an uglie sweater …
would you share it with all of us…would you ….?

If you find a photo and send it to me
with a link back to you…
YOU could win..

and YES THE WINNER WILL GET
one of these HALLMARK ORNAMENTS…

I know soooo lame…lol

side note…

We have a lot going on this month…
ALL OF US…INCLUDING YOU….
I will not be around a lot,
a very special someone really needs me
at this time….

Sooooooooo will try to keep in touch
and let you know what I have been creating..
YOU can bet I have a lot planned for 2014…

Here is to our  fabulous QUILTING FAMILY!
May your hearts be filled with Christmas spirit..

I will also be working on some new patterns
to sell, for our ladies..those who are waiting for
new machines…I almost have enough for one..
and hope to get 2 out ( new sewing machines by Christmas)

* seems like many of us have never made one either
but have seen some…wink

UPDATE Shirley sent this…a 3D sweater…really not that uglie lol
She is wondering already what to make that will be uglier than this lol

  1. We purchase a new ornament each year too that has Winnie the Pooh and Piglet on it. I was looking at those yesterday and 90% of them have come from the Hallmark Store here in town. I love that store! I buy a lot of my Christmas gifts for special friends there.

As Christmas draws near we are all reminded to keep those dear to us closer than ever in our hearts. And that is where you are dear Samm.

Your new blog banner is fabulous!! As soon as the blog loaded, my eyes went wide with excitement! Puts you in the Christmas spirit for sure!

I have never made a sweater and mainly the reason why I have not, is that it sure would have been ugly because I can only knit or crochet a straight line. lol

  2. I've never made a sweater Samm - not even an ugly one. I do have two Christmas cardigans that I bought years and years ago, and which are headed out to the thrift shop today. They are covered with Christmas ornaments, snowmen, etc. They aren't ugly...just a bit over the top. I have no idea why I have two since I never wore the first one. Maybe it was a two for one sale. :) Love, love, love the new banner! Hope your dear one is doing well.... blessings, marlene

  3. Ooooooohhhhhhhh I so wish I had pictures of the sweaters I made of my Mom and Mother-in--law way back there!! I knit each one of them a cardigan with variegated yarn. I am not a knitter; they turned out very well, considering...lol. They were quite large and the yarn made the ugliest sweaters!!!! one green and the other browns....oh my; they were so warm they loved them....big, ugly warm things hanging off them all winter. Mother-in-law kept hers for as long as I can remember, too!!!! lol

Have a very Merry Christmas Madame and take care there. Thinking of you.

  4. Oh, my, your new header makes me look forward to snow and I really don't like winter at all. If I made a sweater, it would definitely be ugliieee. I've never done much more that a chain in crochet and knitting? lol I know how to embellish though....
Take a little time for your self and your loved ones. It IS important and YOU matter.

  5. I can barely make a washcloth, and they are ugly enough! If I could make a sweater, it might be uglee but I would be very impressed with myself. I am not as talented asyou and so many of your followers. :)

  9. I love your ornament :) and I also do not own an ugly sweater, Christmas or otherwise .... but I do wish you luck! This year's tradition of Hallmark ornaments will be foregone for handcrafted ones by the kiddos ... and I think I will come out the winner also :) Hugs to you and your dear ones!!

  11. I use to have 4, yes count them 4, what I now would count as ugly sweaters! I would wear them during December. Now I am wearing denim shirts with Christmas embroidery. I know way out of date, but some day they will be in style again, lol! I actually think that sweater ornament is just 2 cute. Enjoy your December and snow.

  13. Are you looking for deliberately ugly sweaters, or accidental ones? I went looking through old blog pictures and found some really scary ones I'd made for the kids over the years. I put some of them together into a new blog post -- http://mychellem.blogspot.com/2013/12/accidentally-ugly-sweaters.html

There are at least three or four more that I don't have pictures of.

  14. No I don't think I've had an ugly sweater, I used to wear polyester hip hugger bell bottoms with white cowboy boots and a white belt...oh and a crop top, does that count? But hey...I was stylin back in 1973. your header reminds me of .....Sleigh bells ring, are you listening, In the lane, snow is glistening A beautiful sight, We're happy tonight. Walking in a winter wonderland.
