It is Saturday...how nice is that...

Ok, for all you tea drinkers, I have tea cups too...but not your traditional cups...
a fine china tea mug....taste as welcoming as my morning coffee...
Yes it does....I'm sipping an earl grey this morning with an english muffin
and fresh berries...

My teacup is sitting on a t-towel kitchen prayer.....
It came from many miles away from the sweetest lady
I have ever known....what she did not know was...  my
Nanny had this exact prayer in her kitchen....

God Bless my little kitchen
I love it's very nook,
and bless me as I do my work
Wash pots and pans and cook.
And may the meals that I prepare
be seasoned from up above
With thy great blessings and Thy love,
As we partake our earthly food,
the table before us spread,
We'll not forget to thank Thee Lord.
Who gives us daily bread.
So bless my little kitchen, Lord
and those who enter in
May they find naught but joy and peace
And happiness therein..

AMEN lol

and these daisies also found themselves to my door
from another dear friend who possibly knew it was the exact
thing to put a smile upon my face this day...

And since I have been in such a flowery spirit...
I designed this for a new quilt I will be working on very soon.
It won't be exactly like this...as I just know once the fabrics
arrive I will switch it up a bit...but I think you get the idea...
The middle panel will have
"I'm always behind you, pushing you gently forward"...
It will be hand embroidered..

This quilt will be more rectangle then square..yes it will lol.
ps. it will most likely have some ruffles....yes I think so lol

I will be making a TAMMY bag out of the flowered fabric
with a dark lining...I can hardly wait to begin...

A friendly reminder that our STAMP ON IT begins next week..
With Thearica from Pig Tales and Quilts....
I can hardly wait to see what stamp quilts we will be viewing...

  1. Enjoyed your post this morning, its a "feel good" post that gives me a smile to start my day. I like your pretty quilt design.

  2. Good morning lovely Madame. I love tea cups too and I enjoy my morning drinking tea or coffee from a lovely mug with an ice bear and red flower designed by Marimekko from Finland, or from tea cups in English china with decorated with romantic flowers.
Now over to my Christmas table cloth for the blog hop, it only needs binding now and then my stamp.
Oh I am always busy since I met you on your blog.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the lovely weather.
    Greetings from Sweden

  3. Good morning to you too! I think I can smell that tea from here as I sit in my quilting chair enjoying the morning sunshine. Your quilt design looks lovely with those beautiful fabrics and your phrase rolling along. Will look forward to seeing the completion. Have a great day!

  4. Good morning to you Madame....I am enjoying my cup of tea too. It gets me started in the mornings.
Everything is ready for next week...you have a wonderful weekend.

  5. Good morning to you... :-)
The daisies can almost be smelled from Sweden. I picked some myself yesterday, for our Mid summer selebration table... ( thats a great day in Sweden)
Today I have so much leftovers, so I need to invite more people to come and share...
I will also make another Tammy bag this weekend. One is not enough....
Looking forward to your new quilt, the fabric looks so cute and fresh....
    Have a great weekend,
    Hugs from Ingrid in Skåne.

The quilt is going to be great. I can't wait to see it. I have never made a Tammy bag but after seeing all the cute ones recently I need to try.

  9. What a wonderful prayer!
Your quilt will be beautiful! You know how I LOVE words on quilts!

  10. Enjoy your Day!I keep my coffee and tea mugs separate. That way they don't cross-contaminate. Yep, I'm picky.

  11. Good morning to you from sunny Suth Carolina. It looks beautiful outside. But it will be another scorcher here today.

  12. Thank you for your lovely notes today. So special that this prayer holds also much memories of your nanny too. I might have to stitch these words onto something too, just felt so blessed reading them
! Your next quilt looks already great and I realise that this is so you and how I feel about you creating those blog hops for us. You pushed me gently forward and opened new creative doors for me. Thank you so much!
I look forward to see the quilt in its real beauty and be blessed in making it.
    Have a wonderful day!
    Hugs from Switzerland

  13. Good morning! What a pretty table you set. I love the prayer on the T towel. Your saying is so beautiful and will be perfect on a quilt. I look forward to seeing it.

  14. I just love those daisies, I often drink my tea in a china mug. I have jsut finished a cup of tea before I'm off to bed. Here in Melbourne we are currently having icy cold nights and early mornings but beautiful sunny days of 15 degrees celcius, great for sitting in a chair against the window and stitching. Enjoy your day, regards Wendy

  15. sweet! The prayer with the reminder of your nanny and the quilt you have planned--both of them, just sweet. What cheerful flowers especially since we know about that white garden of yours!

  16. It was so nice to share a cup of Earl Grey with you this morning, the daisies are sweet :)

  17. Good Morning to you. It is coffee time here. I have one of my Mom's Royal Albert mugs filled with my vanilla flavored coffee. My treat to start the day. Looks like a good morning to do some catch up work, and then some sewing. The quilt looks wonderful. Enjoy your weekend.

  18. The quilt and Tammy Bag will be beautiful in your chosen fabrics. The hand embroidery is a nice touch. Have a lovely Saturday!

  19. Good for those dear friends!
What fabric is that floral ? probably it is not in stores yet; I must have it! have a great weekend, madame Samm!

  20. Good Morning, Madame Samm. Your table looks so pretty with your tea mug and the daisies. I love the embroidery, too. I never knew either set of my grandmothers so it is always nice to hear about the memories other people have of theirs. I have often wondered about mine.
Your quilt will be beautiful. I am looking forward to seeing it as you work on it. The embrodiery will be very nice. Embrodiery always adds a special touch to any project. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  21. Such a beautiful table to sit at and enjoy your morning tea, muffin and fresh berries. What a coincidence receiving a tea towel with a prayer on it that your Nanny had in her kitchen many years ago ... so very cool. Looking forward to seeing the quilt you make with that beautiful fabric. It must be a new line coming out because I haven't seen it before. I LOVE the polka dots and colors of the fabric.

  22. What lovely quilt you are making and congrats on being a new designer for a fabric company, you are definitely deserving of it! :) Have a wonderful weekend!

  23. What a great friend to drop off such lovely flowers, they would brighten anyone's day. I think ruffles would be a great addition! :). Can't wait to see it finished in fabric!

  24. Flowers are always lovely to receive! No one I know more deserving. I cannot wait for your quilt! Maybe a words on quilts blog hop in our future? Have a happy weekend.

  25. Good morning sweet lady... Love the table setting... It is far different than what my Saturday was so it is really refreshing for me. We came home from the coast in several torrential downpours of rain and was so glad to finally pull in to my own driveway.

The rhododendrons on the coast were so beautiful! Several with beautiful white blooms which made me think of you.

  26. Can't wait to see your new quilt. I LOVE daisies, I think they are the friendliest flowers :)

    Have a lovely Sunday!

  27. Looks like a beautiful way to start the day!

    Very pretty design, Samm.

  28. Love the quilt design just as it is. Pretty fabrics. Just finished my stamp today. Whew...glad to have that done. The deadlines just keep on coming.

You think they are just words...they are sew much more than that...your wee messages tell me, you are kind, smart and important...
