DAY 3 of its for the BIRDS with Clothworks as our Sponsor!

Welcome to DAY 3 of our HOP...

I remember the year 1963 The Birds came out on television.

The Birds is a 1963 suspense/horror film directed by Alfred Hitchcock, loosely based on the 1952 story "The Birds" by Daphne du Maurier. It depicts Bodega Bay, California, which is, suddenly and for unexplained reasons, the subject of a series of widespread and
violent bird attacks over the course of a few days.
The film was billed as 'introducing' Tippi Hedren. It also starred Rod Taylor, Jessica Tandy, Suzanne Pleshette and a young Veronica Cartwright.
The screenplay was written by Evan Hunter. Hitchcock told him to develop new characters and a more elaborate plot, keeping Du Maurier's title and concept of unexplained bird attacks.

and ever since I have been rather preoccupied with

and so much sooooo when I heard there was a BARBIE
of Tippi Hedren, I went out scouting for it....
I drove all my friends nuts-- me talking about birds birds birds
someone dear to me...gifted me my very own Birds BARBIE for Christmas...

Of course then  we had to have a BIRD hop....

  18. As always, such talented people! I'm always so inspired on these hops! pbstrand@msn.com The Barbie is too, fun, too, although I must admit that "The Birds" scared me too much to watch more than once. I loved the other Hitchcock movies, though, and especially "Alfred Hitchcock Presents."

  30. Oh and by the way ... my baby sitter who lives one street over is having her own "The Birds" episode .... a Robin has picked her car to do its "business" on for the past week, not because it's sitting under a tree ... the bird has chose each side mirror of her car and messed up nearly a third of each side window with its dirty-bird business. She'll was it three times in a day and the next day it's that dirty again. This morning, one of her little 1st graders she watches told her there was a robin pecking at the back sliding glass door and it was starting to creep her out ... gotta think Tippi and Alfred are laughing somewhere together!! :)

  31. Fantastic embroidery, Amy Bradley, and a work of art! Oh my! I have to share a story. One day I heard the most awful racket and stepped out of the classroom to see what it was. No windows by the way. A large pine tree next to our room was COVERED in crows. I immediately thought of the movie. Creepy. I didn't allow the kids out of the room until they finally ended their crow convention. I can't wait to see what you've made!

  33. Though I’ve never seen that movie yet, but would love to. However, just reading you post makes me a little bit frightened. Horror movies are definitely not my type, you know. It makes me shout all over the house and I would end up hiding underneath a pillow. I love the quilt hanging on the bird post. It’s so cute!

  34. Those were great quilts. I am catching up today because I was gone all day yesterday.
