So we meet again. If you are here, I am your last
visit of this delightful creative blog hop.
With each hop YOU all get more creative and you raise the bar.
YOU raised it sooo high this time...I could not
reach it. I would like to say it is because I am only 5 Ft tall..
But that wasn't sooo....
YOU were all AMAZING...
Some of you were just downright
Phenomenal! lol
Although I did make
quite a few dresdens ( nope not telling lol)
------ and may I remind you
I had never made one before the button above....
that orange black and grey one....
I seem to remember reading that quite a
few had never made dresdens before this hop....
what can I say...YOU Wowed me and so many others...
YOU dared me, well to put it straight..
I dared myself since I did come up with the name lol
I am only showing YOU 1
however it does have 3 mini dresdens...
They could fit into your hand they are so small..
They have 24 plates...( is that what you call them ?)
I cut up some templates from OBOL packaging..
( they happen to make great sturdy ones, the packaging that is)
I made the two larger dresdens first... stitched them
all by hand...then downsized the template in half, and made the smaller one..
it is only 2.5 inches in diameter...
What the "beep" was I thinking lol...
So I have 3 mini dresdens, now what?
I thought I could make them into balloons...
but that was not enough...
I sketched this wee tot, and appliquéd a dress
on her to match my dresdens
and started stitching ....AGAIN.
In this HOP you all WON!
Yes Carol, you beat me....lol
What can I say , I am such a disappointment lol
We weren't competing were we....?
We may have to entertain another DRESDEN Hop someday..
I need a whole lot more practice so I too can raise the bar for others ....
Soooo here she is...
I called this framed piece "You raised the bar too high!"
A reminder to "me" I just cannot be good at everything lol...
And if anyone of you like this wee tot....
for the next 24 hours I will send it to you...
So you too can stitch her up...
just say WEE TOT YES with your email in comments.!
( if you are a follower the pattern is yours)
( if you are a follower the pattern is yours)
( to make up for my 1 project wink)
And for my giveaway...I thought I would call upon Jane at Jane's Fabrics
and Quilts for a $20.00 gift certificate for anyone who made need
some Presencia Threads....for an upcoming Stitch me up Blog hop...
WE also have our bundles from Windham Fabrics
that will be announced on Monday!
These are the delightful creators I shared my day with...
Thursday - January 31th, 2013
And to thank Christine our resident Cheerleader..
She did well didn' t she?
Well I sketched a likeness of her when she was a wee tot
in her favourite color BLUE!
She gets the pattern to stitch it into a likeness of HER.
It will be simply called
WEE TOT Christine!
Wasn't she cute? Well she still is!
And Windham Fabrics is our sponsor
with their I LIKE YOU collection by Amy Sedaris..
They have put up a rather funny post about Amy Sedaris collection..
#3 winners will win these brand new bundles
for top 3 of the day
for overall participation
and for leaving comments.
( winners announced on Monday)
Our Last top 2 of this hop....
Ok this is a bulls-eye....look at those colours...her stitching...have no idea how large
it is but I bet it is bigger than 2.5 inches lol
Great colour choices and very vivid, reminds me of an eye....
take a look at it again...amazing isn't it?
Now this lady shares it was her first dresden...Shut the front door...
and let's keep her for ourselves..this lady truly is an artist...
Everything about this screams top 2....Bravo my dear!
And most creative has to go to this lady...
And this lady never disappoints...except for the fact that she
WAS NOT going to play with us....How pleased we were that
she reconsidered...look at those wheels....now this certainly rollsme over for uniqueness and creativity...
YOU Vroom Vroom for sure!

ReplyDeleteVery cute! So impressed with the size! And of course your stitching is adorable as always.

ReplyDeleteNow that this blog hop is over, what excuse will I give my hubs for having to sit at my computer for such a long time every morning, perusing all the blogs with the need to 'acquire' the knowledge needed to quilt? I love, love, love your little girl and her Dresden balloons. Your are so creative and talented.
ReplyDeleteWEE TOT YES please.
I think your dresdens are excellent and the way you used them is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteWee Tot Yes! please! I am a follower too.
This has been another fun blog hop. Such great creations.
Wee Tot Yes - and I love your creative spirit - this is a wonderful Dresden because you were thinking outside the box. You are so "much more good" at everything in our opinion. The Dresdens have definitely been a creative and inspiring journey through this blog hop. I wish all hoppers would leave comments on everyone's blog and not just the ones with giveaways - everyone needs to be praised and encouraged and I feel that some have not been as appreciated for their participation. IMHO only ... Judy C in NC definitely thanks you and Christine for another wonderful hop.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you in that everyone's creativity was over the top!! I was inspired by many of the dresden projects. I love your precious little girl. I wish I could draw/sketch. I can copy but I don't have the talent to free-hand my own designs. Thank Goodness my felloq quilters and You, Samm have that talent.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Gmama Jane

ReplyDeleteWee tot yes! elita.sharpe@live.com What a cute idea!! I found your hop too late but reminded me of the dresden plate quilt I did a number of years ago (http://www.busyneedle.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Plate-Quilt.jpg). We use that one in the summer now. Now I know where to follow all the greatest hops!
ReplyDeletewow, very creative - love them all, but especially your little girl. She reminds me of characters Mom used to sketch and doodle when having coffee.
