Last day of Dare to Dresden Blog hop and YOU raised the bar to high!



So we meet again. If you are here, I am your last
visit of this delightful creative blog hop.
 With each hop YOU all get more creative and you raise the bar.
YOU raised it sooo high this time...I could not 
reach it. I would like to say it is because I am only 5 Ft tall..
But that wasn't sooo....

YOU were all AMAZING...
Some of you were just downright
Phenomenal! lol

Although I did make 
quite a few dresdens ( nope not telling lol) 
 ------ and may I remind you
I had never made one before the button above....
that orange black and grey one....

I seem to remember reading that quite a
few had never made dresdens before this hop....
what can I say...YOU Wowed me and so many others...

YOU dared me, well to put it straight..
I dared myself since I did come up with the name lol

I am only showing YOU 1
 however it does have 3 mini dresdens...

They could fit into your hand they are so small..
They have 24 plates...( is that what you call them ?)
I cut up some templates from  OBOL packaging..
( they happen to make great sturdy ones, the packaging that is)

I made the two larger dresdens  first... stitched them 
all by hand...then downsized the template in half,  and made the smaller one..
it is only 2.5 inches in diameter...

What the "beep" was I thinking lol...

So I have 3 mini dresdens, now what? 

I thought I could make them into balloons...
but that was not enough...
I sketched this wee tot, and appliquéd a dress
on her to match my dresdens 
and started stitching ....AGAIN.

Yes Carol, you beat me....lol
What can I say , I am such a disappointment lol
We weren't competing were we....?

We may have to entertain another DRESDEN Hop someday..
I need a whole lot more  practice so I too can raise the bar for others ....

Soooo here she is...
I called this framed piece "You raised the bar too high!"
A reminder to "me" I just cannot be good at everything lol...

Ok this is a bulls-eye....look at those colours...her stitching...have no idea how large
it is but I bet it is bigger than 2.5 inches lol

and let's keep her for ourselves..this lady truly is an artist...

And this lady never disappoints...except for the fact that she 
WAS NOT going to play with us....How pleased we were that 
she reconsidered...look at those wheels....now this certainly rolls
me over for uniqueness and creativity...

And we all know that working with small things (and very large things) can be very challenging. Thank you for putting together the blog hop and participating in it, too!   56. I think you really won, because there is absolutely no way I would have hand sewn those teenie-tiny little blades (or whatever we call them)together. Nope! Wouldn't do it. She is so adorable and that is such a great idea to mix applique with embroidery. Who wouldn't want to win that little beauty. Thanks for all your inspiration and work to get this hop together.

  69. Wee Tot Yes - and I love your creative spirit - this is a wonderful Dresden because you were thinking outside the box. You are so "much more good" at everything in our opinion. The Dresdens have definitely been a creative and inspiring journey through this blog hop. I wish all hoppers would leave comments on everyone's blog and not just the ones with giveaways - everyone needs to be praised and encouraged and I feel that some have not been as appreciated for their participation.   70. I have to agree with you in that everyone's creativity was over the top!! I was inspired by many of the dresden projects. I love your precious little girl. I wish I could draw/sketch. I can copy but I don't have the talent to free-hand my own designs. Thank Goodness my felloq quilters and You, Samm have that talent.

When I first was thinking of what to do for my project and looking out at what others had already done, I thought what more can be done with a dresden plate? The creativity has been so amazing!   163. Well, I do agree that the dresden projects were over the top but...silly lady...you stepped over the bar quite easily with your quilt. I loved your little balloons with their pink dotty centers. The sweet little girl is so adorable - you are just so artistic!

    This was another marvelous hop, Madame Samm. Thank you for all you do to get them rolling and keep things running smoothly. You choose well when it comes to the organizers, too. These hops keep me hopping on the days they run; I'm glad to have the weekends off to catch up so I know you and your cheerleaders need that time also.
