IN your WORDS begins on MONDAY! ( sneak peak of a new project)

Over the holidays, I did some sketching, actually a lot of sketching...

I have drawn about 3 dozen of these ladies so far, 

I am calling them the Pink Lip Ladies...

( all to be done in embroidery as well as some appliqués)

I have stitched a few already  with Black Presencia Perle Cotton #12

and did their lips in a Variegated PINK also from Presencia...

( all from Colonial Needle) 

They really do look stunning...I am making a whole quilt on this theme.

Before I got into quilting, just 3 years ago...seems funny to say that..

since I have learned sooooo much in such a short time...

I designed my whole wardrobe.  I can't remember ever purchasing clothes,

I used to make everything....welll until I began quilting....lol

My Nanny was an excellent seamstress,

I came across some very old patterns that she had worked on 

for many of her friends and family. Thousands of patterns

that I am sure have never been seen in circulation.

She travelled a lot abroad, and knew many fashion designers...

Pattern names and designers - I was not even familiar with...

I was soooo darn inspired, that I started sketching them.

YOU can copy this for any size...all of them I did 

on 12 x 13 inch blocks...so I had a nice border around each one...

I like to add a piece of flannel underneath each piece as I am 

doing these up on white KONA, it hides all the threads...

I have a couple other projects that are under wraps for now...

With full time studies, I work on my 23 minute rule

and trying to squeeze everything in...

My New Year Resolution is to be MORE CREATIVE!

Can you handle that? Lol

I think I am up for the challenge...

This cannot be happening!

My husband gifted me with this special cup! swavroski crystal not a diamond1 

Who can tell you the exact day and year they received  a single brewer coffee maker...?? I can! 

4 years ago tomorrow, we moved into our new home, and we ordered our new machine
from  Keurig the Breville model. This single cup brewing system was one of my favourite parts of my morning, it always served me up a perfect cup of brew.  For 4 years it has worked perfectly. I love my coffee machine.  You all know I love coffee soooooo much I did a paper on it, all the benefits on coffee. My husband and I wrote a couple chapters on the benefits of coffee in our book, I want it all! As Nutritionist, we know our coffee, and up till this morning, we knew our coffee machine too intimately. !

Ok, this morning, like all the mornings prior to 4 years ago tomorrow, I select my K-cup coffee, this morning it was Sumatra Reserve. I turn on my Breville Machine...not a sound, the lights all popped on....but no sound, not a peep. What I usually hear is the sound of the healing element, this morning nothing.... Notwithstanding checking to see if it is plugged in...check that is done, lights are on, check.
Touch the outside of it to feel the heat...NOTHING. It has passed on where all FATAL coffee makers go...


I panicked for about 7.3 minutes, plugged in the my kettle and made myself a TEA. lol

Then I put a call into Breville, the CAS there was just a doll, and she could not help but chuckle when I told her of the passing of my Breville. They are going to get back to us later today, with a special deal...
But that was not enough for me....The TEA starting wearing off, I thought.....I am going to call GREEN MOUNTAIN COFFEE, as a platinum member,  ( you can get a free machine) ( been with them for almost 8 years) I shared with Mandy, my dilemma of no GREEN MOUNTAIN COFFEE this morning, because my Keurig Breville brewer bit the dust....She chuckled too....

She informed me they no longer have the Breville Brewing System, but they had the Platinum Model, I had that one prior to my Breville, I really wanted another stainless steel model... I noted this office Pro
Model....she placed me on hold for a few minutes...Returned with its a go...."we will have you brewing in 8-10 days)

"8-10 days...oh my goodness, what will I do" ..... David is back at work, he has the Platinum model in his office... He is going to bring it home till our New Pro Model arrives... And yes FREE, as a member of the Cafe Express Club, if your machine ever dies, they replace it with the same model or equivalent.... NOW that is customer service!

So my new cup above....will not be christened with any coffee

till tomorrow morning lol

p.s when I told David about Brevilles offer, he said depending what it is,

we just may get another machine so we have a PLAN B...lol

Coffee LESS in the life of a quilter...

Happy New Year....what 2013 will look like...

The clock was ticking and my thoughts were clear

It is time to think about a brand NEW YEAR.

2012 had its share of hops...

one after another...

it seemed like lots...

Well it was...lol

We are now thinking of 2013

and my oh my it won't be lean

We will begin with  "in your Words"

and follow with  "Dare to Dresden"

It's all about "ME" will follow you will see...

We will have  you "Stitching me up"

that will fill up your cups

and yes " It's for the Birds"

 they will be singing

"Nancy Drew" will be here

you will love her- she's  soooo dear

BEHIND YOU WILL SEE

2012 is long gone,

Be happy we move forward

the road is still long

We still have so much LOVE

to share with one another

Let's make 2013 like no other...

Keep your spirits ahead of you

and I will too...
