Every MAN needs one of these!

About a year ago a dear lady who was a frequent guest here, brought along her Erma
Bombeck humor, you may remember her Nan from Pots and Pins...
She loves to cook almost
as much as she loves to quilt. She tells me
she will be begging soon to hop with us...
Well begging is not necessary, just bring your wit with you
is what I told her...

In the meantime....I give her credit for coming up with the idea...

I updated the list and the look, and made it into 5 x 7 card that is
found on my DH's side table.
He really does have a great sense of humour and really
appreciated the new lines lol

Yeah right...lol

But it makes for a lovely post this morning...
and gives us an opportunity to scream
for Nan. COME BACK NAN, we miss you!

Sew here you go, save it in jpeg or png and copy
and print, and I laminated mine locally for a whopping
.50 cents...

And thanks to Nan, she loves FANS ....
I think she calls us that...lol

What other lines could be added...???
Maybe we can come up with a library of cards
in honor of our Nan lol

I Had some time to take a stroll with my camera this morning
thought you would enjoy the view too..

Note here, I did not do anything but focus and shoot..

The view from our deck...see the corners of the garden, those are
2 barn doors that a dear Evelyn, found me this past summer...

and yes we are Pepper farmers...we have a total of 8 peppers...
yep from only 2 plants. lol

I started these phlox from seed, they were supposed to be ground cover,
now they hover over 5 feet tall and are an amazing backdrop to our
all white garden... They just started blooming a week ago..

Is that not amazing..look at those dew drops just holding on... many dozens
of buds still coming..

Ohhhh what is fall without MUMMS...this arrangement is about 3 feet in diameter...
Yes love white flowers...we have an arrangement with the bees, to
not pollinate any colour...they have been heeding our requests...

Ohhh this one is a perfect symmetrical 1 foot baby Mumm's...

Remember the metal dress I made last fall, well we needed to find
it a home...we placed it by our deck and planted some vines...
they are very happy..already climbing our barn wall...

Ok, that is it for me today...I have a few meetings
to get to...
Thanks for joining me in the garden this morning...x

  2. I had to smile when I read this post. Our heating has been broken for over a week. My partner and I have been huddling under quilts to help keep warm. Yesterday she said to me, "I'm so glad you are a quilter!"

    1. Great list of comments. How about "your seams match up so perfectly"????

Your garden looks so pretty. White flowers are always so pretty. I have not grown phlox before, but they look a lot like Cosmos. There may not be many peppers, but they are beautiful, aren't they?

    2. HI Britt, Hi Mary...combined comments...lol I am with you Britt...love love fall
and Mary, your suggestion is a great one...and YOU know I think you are right...someone else mentioned the wrong seeds, and they were right...
OK they are cosmos...certiainly not ground cover, unless of course you step on them ....lol
Ohhh my peppers..I am thinking I may have to pick it tomorrow...I love sweet peppers raw...nothing else...

  6. I need to print that out for my husband so instead of the deer-in-the-headlights look, he can actually have something to say when I show him each little project. Your photos were an enjoyable stroll this morning--very peaceful. :O)

  8. Like Needled Mom, I think your phlox are actually cosmos. Perhaps the wrong seeds were put in the package? My scenery looked similar this morning; we were foggy and misty too. I, however, am not a good photographer like you (can I blame it on the camera?)!

    1. Hi Julie..I think you are right you know...I said to Mary above...they put the wrong seeds in my pouch.... and never blame it on the camera or you...take pics early in morn and near sunset...those always come out the best... or under a shaded tree...

  10. I have phlox in my garden. I've had the grandcover phlox and it has very tiny flowers on a ground hugging plant. Right now I have "Old fashioned phlox" and it doesn't look anything like yours. Mine has flowers that grow in clusters on flower spikes. Regardless of what they're called, they are beautiful, as are your photos!
Love the comment card. Maybe I would add: "I think your fat quarters are shrinking!" (No? sounded good to me!)

  12. Love the Honey Helps, my husband is just..... I usually get, "Uhuh, looks nice.", or "You know I don't get into that, look fine to me." Yes, real supportive, but what he doesn't say in words he does woll'r in the finished projects till they are thread bear.

Love the pics of the garden. Just too dry here, right now for dew and fog - or anything for that matter. My Egyptian Onion (that I am bringing back from certain death by child) it trying to bolt on me, with all the heat, but she is a trooper and will settle down soon. My EO is the only garden plant I have been able to save from our drought and my neighbor's Bamboo. Waiting for cooler weather to plant some flowers in my newly (re-cleared) flower box. We have an amazing number of humming birds which I will be planting to attract.

  14. I suspect as a quilting (and now crochety) guy I won't need that poster in my house, though curious about what it says!

My dad has pepper plants that are about as productive as yours, and we got some nice home-grown potatoes and courgette (zucchini) on our dinner plates tonight :)

Your foggy photos sound very picturesque ... I love early morning gardens hanging with dew!

    1. HI Giles...quilting and crochet..way to go Giles...Have you moved yet? Were you not heading to a new country? The list by the way, is things are husbands should say...couple examples when showing them a new quilt... " I am really glad you took up quilting". " I think that would look great in my office, my favourite " Let me take a picture of that for your blog" Those were my best.. The others not so funny. Pepper plants, I think they just got the right amount of shade and the sun beams enough to colour them. Don't you just love Peppers... Hope to see you again Giles..my best..

  15. Rosemary B here:
    Happy Wednesday already!!
Your early garden photos are delightful. I love the mums and love the phlox and the vines. And the red peppers, and your RED furniture in the garden! nice.
I am going to print this poster out and frame it.
My hubby just says, "that's nice hunny" a LOT
I hope you have had a marv day.
It is boiling hot here in Virginia. I only went out this morning to consume some goods, errrr, some goodies for ME
Then I also went out to the GYM to exercise and stare at funny people.
Now I am home sewing and cooking at the same time.

Hey, maybe I should pass them on to my husband since he's doing what cooking gets done these days. :) And your morning garden shots make me want to come sit on the deck and just rest in the peace. I love the white flowers - all of them. blessings, marlene
