May I request your EYES.....Quilt STOLEN

Good Afternoon...
This morning I was in receipt of a note requesting that I post about a fellow quilter, Karen Combs who on the weekend had a quilt stolen from her car. As many of you come from USA I thought perhaps if you saw it anywhere you would make contact with Karen directly at karen@karencombs.com.
Here is her story....
My best mdm samm

It is something every traveling quilt teacher fears, her quilts will be stolen or lost.  Unfortunately, it has happened to me. I’m heartbroken. . . please share the images and story below.  I hope they will be found.
On March 16, 2012, sometime between midnight and 6am at the Courtyard New Braunfels River Village, my rental car’s driver window was broken and my teaching suitecase was stolen. The hotel is located at 750 IH 35 North in New Braunfels, Texas. The police were called, they stated the break-in looked like the work of a professional.
It was a “smash and grab”. The vandals did not know what they were taking and it will have no value to them.  It means the world to me. . .
Inside the suitecase were the quilts  from my popular Patchwork Illusions class. I also lost all my teaching supplies and step-by-step demos for the class.
If you live in New Braunfels or anywhere in Texas, please check local yard sales, flea markets and pawn shops for the quilts.  Everyone, please   forward this blog posting to every quilter and quilt shop you know and ask them to forward it to everyone they know.
If you find one of my quilts or quilt  blocks, please contact me atkaren@karencombs.com

  11. So very sorry to hear about this. Fingers crossed that they will be found.

  12. What a shame. I do hope the quilts are found. They are quite beautiful.

  13. They are all sew beautiful! So sad they have been taken. Hope they are found.

  14. Sad but true - none of us should leave anything in our vehicle that we wouldn't want stolen... Thanks for reposting this to get wider coverage.

  15. So sorry about this terrible loss! Good luck finding your stuff!

  16. Earlier this year I read a similar story of quilts being stolen from a car in the U.S. There is a certain advantage in their being of unique design. I hope they will be recovered. It is a good reminder not to leave things in one's car.

  17. I am staying in New Braunfels, TX for the winter and I will certainly keep my eyes open....I'll even start looking on purpose!! ~karen

  18. Keeping my fingers crossed that they are found and returned unharmed. Have you thought about an article with photos in the news paper, that may make the locals aware of your lost works of art?

  19. Oh this just breaks my heart and makes me so mad. These quilts are so beautiful and I hope they are found and returned to you. I'm in California but will keep my eyes open. Best of Luck to you.

You think they are just words...they are sew much more than that...your wee messages tell me, you are kind, smart and important...
