I cross stitched a couple of kits I found in my mother's old sewing basket. One was an initial in a garland of yellow flower and the other was a teeny tiny bouquet of daffodils. The daffs are so small they are about the size of a 5 pence coin.

ReplyDeleteCurrent projects are all dresses. Some headed for Africa--6 there so far. Some for Easter outfits for local homeless children--6 in that set also. I have sewn a few more that don't yet have desingated destinations. Have not sewn little dresses in 40 years or so!

ReplyDeleteThe last thing I stitched was a headband- I made a bunch of them for my sister. I wear headbands all the time so I have no idea why I didn't think to make these before. All they need is a 4 inch by 15 inch scrap and a small piece of elastic. My new favorite scrap project!

ReplyDeleteLast thing other than quilts was fleece bathrobes for Christmas. Loved them because I don't put interfacing in them but I love my pellon interfacing. Come April or May I will start making shakespearean hats and I use pellon in everything. Love it, love it, love it.
ReplyDeleteThe last thing I stitched was a piece called Ink Spots. It was the first time I had used a single color for an entire piece. I'm currently working on another cross stitch piece titled Summer Sampler.

ReplyDeleteThe last thing I stitched was a cute little free handed flower with leaves, grass, a water ripple and a sun beam, It is very cute. And the first free hand I have ever done i think. I am also working on a basket of flowers and a blue bird house.

ReplyDeleteI've been stitching a few things lately...never just one project on the go at my house. I finished a pumpkin tea towel...it was a freebe pattern by Bird Brain Designs and it had been traced on the tea towel since October. The same day I finished the stitching on another Bird Brain Design pattern...it is a redwork 'Snow Happens' table runner....there was just a little stitching to do on that project. I stitched it in bluework first. I'd luv to try embroidery with the pellon. Thanks for the chance to win some.
ReplyDeleteEvery Christmas I pull out my box of embroidered Christmas ornaments. They have animals backed with felt. Some satin stitches and seed pearls. Future heirlooms.

ReplyDeleteI just finished pillowcases with the names of the kids I made them for. I use the stitch n tear, and rarely ever hoop, just spray the fabric and press down on the stabilizer. Thanks for the chance to win some great products!

ReplyDeleteI am currently creating 2 sets of curtains! They are GINORMOUS, covering one window at 56 inches wide and one at 88 inches wide, both of 'em are supposed to finish at 72" long. And, inserted toward the bottom is a 10" wide panel of white, with embroideries all along it, and the 2 insert seams trimmed in jumbo red ric-rac. Oh, and they are LINED with thermo/blackout fabric. It's really quite the project! And while I'm doing them, I've done a couple of appliance cozies for Kitchenaid mixers. And an apron and potholder. And matching towel. Quilts? Oh, yeah, I did my Feb. block for our Saturday Sampler group. Other than that, not much! Thank you for offering such a FABulous Pellon giveaway!!
