ReplyDeleteOh, to be kept stable.... That would be an accomplishment these days! But now, for my little stitcheries, I back them with stabilizer before stitching. It keeps them crisp and hides the threads well hidden on the back of the piece. Have a blessed day!!

Talk about a timely giveaway!! Yesterday I finished the last of 10 walker bags for the ladies at my mom's assisted living center. They liked the one I made for mom because it has a lot of body to it thanks to Pellon's peltex! It gives them a lot of body and they don't flop around on the walker.

ReplyDeleteThe project didn't 'need' it. I had to use it because I kind of messed up. I was trying to use a scrap that was too small and my seam allowance wasn't enough.

Purses use up a lot of this stuff! I would love to try different weights to make quilts come alive...I haven't fallen in love with applique yet (except for kids' clothes), but I have a project designed that may just do it for me.

Funny as in haha annoying the first time I bought the wrong thing only to learn that we use interfacing to stabilize knits, but stabilizer for embroidery.

ReplyDeleteI used Pellon for some robot/octopus/helicopter applique on baby onesies. Stretchable interfacing? That's crazy talk. I'm excited to see that. I'd love to try their stabilizer. I was thinking of making fabric boxes to put things in.
