    ReplyDelete
  44. I've been soooo tempted to buy white jelly rolls. But I tell myself, just cut the strips yourself! However, with the project I'm making, jelly rolls in white would have been a huge difference. i buy blue, but dont always use it

    ReplyDelete
  60. My favorite that I am afraid might go away someday is Hoffman 1895 #360 "Waikiki.". It is the prettiest blue I've ever seen. Giving blue a real chase in my stash is brown, esp golden browns.

    ReplyDelete
  61. currently: I have a thing for White on White. Cream on Cream. Neutrals, tone on tone. A mega thang. They read as solid but when snuggling into the quilt you are surprised!
why: because as I work through the stash they ALWAYS work.
where: usually under the cutting tables. so I sit right down and ponder the selections!

I'd have to say that I lean towards reproduction fabrics especially in blue and also to the kind of reds, blues and greens (YES, green!!) found in 1930s fabrics. Come on, how can I pick just one?

    ReplyDelete
  68. I'm a faithful follower as well, and I'm on a personal challenge of no buy until I finish 50 quilty items from stash. The one exception is WOW or plain white (cream) for backgrounds. I've already used up the stack of them. The jelly roll would be perfect!!!!!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  76. I always seem to end up with pink but that has more to do with the three little girls that I sew for than the color :)

    ReplyDelete
  121. Oh, don't say that. Green is a wonderful colour - leaves in summer, grass, a great one to use as sashing, veggies and it just gives one such a fresh feeling. My favourite colour is blue. However, I don't buy much of it because I use all sorts of colours. I love the comment above about buying lots of orange because there are so many shades out there. Remainder of the week will be spend in trying to get an idea for spreading a word to help the disaster in Japan, another earthquake 6.6 Richter scale yesterday. Maybe in a week it's blue, white and yellow again...

    ReplyDelete
