  5. Yes I am a follower, Jill's "Around the Town" quilt is in American Patchwork and Quilting. My favorite ruler was a 6 1/2 x 24, I say WAS because one of my mini monsters snapped about 5 inches off one end. Don't ask me how. They still won't admit who it was.

  6. My favorite ruler is my 1x6 from Olfa. I use it right in front of my sewing machine for all my trimming.

    ReplyDelete
  7. My favorite ruler depends on what I working on at that moment! Right now it's my 6x12 Olfa, but I probably use my old Quilter's Rule 6.5 x 6.5 half square the most.

  13. I don't have a ruller, unless an old wooden school ruller counts. I have never bought a ruller because I have to drive an hour to get to a good store and I forget when I finally get to the big city. Poor me :( But---I could sure use some new fabric that is pretty.

  14. I am already a follower and love to see who is featured each day. My favorite ruler is my 24" June Tailor ruler. Why? It is the one I use most often and gives me the most accurate view and cut when I work with fabric. :-) And the magazine that Mrs. Jill was featured in was American Patchwork and Quilting for her "Around the Town" quilt. And fortunately, I have that issue! :-) I am drooling at my keyboard because of that lovely fabric. Just gorgeous and I can see it made up into something for my kitchen "waiting for a quilt" wall. :-)

  40. I am a follower. My favourite ruler is my
14 x 4 1/4". I can cut longish lengths of fabric, but it's still small enough to fit easily into a kit bag to take to sewing days.

    ReplyDelete
  41. My favorite ruler this is tough since I have a boot box full of them tucked under the chest of drawers. If I can only pick one, it would be my 6 x 12 Omnigrid. It's not too big nor is it too small. No, it's not good for cutting borders or WOF, but it can be used for just about any measuring/cutting I need to do on a FQ -- which is what most of my stash is.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I am a follwer, too. The rule, that is my favourite is the Easy Angle Rule. I must not calculate to make any half square triangles.
    The quilt is very pretty.

  107. My favorite ruler is the 6" X 24". It's great for all sizes of cuts plus has all of those great cross markings for angels. And, of course I'm a regular follower. Thanks for the opportunity to enter the giveaway for the beautiful fabric!

    ReplyDelete
  108. My favourite ruler is the 3" x 18". The one I have is by omnigrid. It might possibly have too many markings (sometimes I can't see my own marking on the fabric through all the 1/8" markings on the ruler) but I love the size. Also love my Companion Angle ruler.

    Great quilt from American patchwork.

Thanks for the chance at the fabric, too.

  115. My newest fave ruler is the 4x37 blade sharpening ruler that Pat Sloan did not too long ago. I the sharpening side is ok, but what I really like is the length. This is one great ruler for squaring up right after quilting. The set of rulers is called The Cutting Edge by Sullivan.

I'm also very familiar with Ms. Jillily.

  116. I am a follower and my favorite ruler has to be the standby 6.5X24. Although I think I am due for a new one since this one has seen better days.

  117. There she is! I have to admit, I cheated by looking at other comments, because I didn't know the answer :-( Know why? My American Patchwork & Quilting magazine was on my sidetable and yet to be devoured. (I have so many, it takes a long time to savor each one.) But now I know.

And I'm a Follower. And my favorite ruler is my 3" x 18". I've had three, broken one, have one always on the cutting table, and one in my "taking classes" bag.

I'd love to win this gorgeous fabric, and the pattern is adorable.

  118. Thank you for the opportunity to win this generous prize from Jillily Studios. My favorite ruler is the long 6.5 x 24 inch Quilter's Rule with the raised gripper edges on the underside (every quarter of an inch). This helps me with those long cuts across the WOF. I'm a follower though my posting avatar differs from the gfc avatar - it's the same email. Thanks Madame Samm.

  135. I love my Omnigrid 24" ruler. Besides using it to cut all of my strips, I've cut 60 degree triangles with it and they came out perfect. I also love my tri-recs rulers by EZ quilting. They make long star points super easy to cut, and you can cut them from strips.

    ReplyDelete
  136. I'm already a follower. My favorite ruler is anything by Creative Grids. I love the little rough spots on the back that grip the fabric. I never have any ruler slippage when using them and the rulers come in so many different sizes and configurations.

The favorite ruler I own: 6 x 24 Omnigrid and I also like Marsha McCloskey's Feathered Star Ruler - it's a 8 1/2" square. Haven't used it to make feathered stars, but it's awesome for squares.

  156. Of course I'm a follower and I love this fabric!! My favorite ruler is Fons a Porters, Omnigrid 8"x14" ruler. I like this one because it is compact for carrying to class and you can still cut yardage. Also, My work space is always so cramped I seldom have enough space for a 24 inch ruler...lol I have to tell you, when I first started quilting, I had cataracts and my vision wasn't that good. Everytime I looked at my Omnigrid rulers, I thought it said OhmyGod. So that is what I called them.
    thanks for the giveaway, Jill!

  166. Lovely fabric and great blog! I'm already a follower. My most frequently grabbed ruler is my Creative Grad 3 1/2" square! It's always at my machine for closeup measuring, small cuts, etc. Following that would be the 6 1/2" sq Creative Grids - both measuring and centering. I use the centering one quite a bit for machine embroidery centering in projects. Love Creatvie Grid rulers!!

    ReplyDelete
  167. My favorite Ruler is my Binding Ruler. Leave a 12" gap in the binding, lay the ruler down, mark the fabric once on each side, two cuts later I have a perfect miter to join the binding beginning and ends together. Works EVERY time no matter how thick my binding is...

    ReplyDelete
  168. The very first ruler I ever purchased is still my favorite...the O'lipfa Lip Edge ruler! It is 5"X24", with a lip that hooks on the edge of the mat so that the ruler does not slip when making long cuts. I bought it 20 years ago and some of the markings are are nearly worn off!

    ReplyDelete
  169. Hi. Became an official follower, although I've been reading your blog for a while. My favorite ruler? Hmmm, lately it's the one that lets me cut quarter-square triangles for fabric strips that is only 1/2 inch bigger than the finished size (rather than having use fabric that is 3/8 inch bigger. Does that make sense?

    ReplyDelete
  170. The ruler I use most is my Omnigrid 12x6 inch. But I think that my Easy Angle and Companion Angle are the rulers that I find the most inventive for not having to re cut squares and just using strips to create my triangles!

  171. Please, Please pick me!!

I love everything about Jill and Jillily designs. Oh, and my favorite rulers are my Omigrid 6-1/2" and 6 x 12".

Keep up the good work Madame Samm
