  10. I'm a new follower. I've just discovered quilting blogs. I'm just getting my feet wet in quilting. I've sewn as long as I can remember, but I've only dabbled with things like quilted bags so far. And one Rag Quilt. Sew, in February I plan to finish a bag for one dd & make a rag quilt style bag for my other dd. THEN I want to start on a REAL quilt! I cut out the pieces for most of it tonight. I am really excited!

Thanks for such a wonderful give away. I love the quilts you chose for the banner!

Can't wait to see all the new "showcases" on the banner - all those reds and OH MY GOSH over 3000 photos - yeah quilters! Feb holds more finishes. My longarmer is delivering 2 quilts done tomorrow, so there is binding to do. And 3 challenge lists will have me revving that machine to complete those. And the few BOMs will be updating waiting their turn A busy short month. (a follower)

  25. First thing...congrats to Anne Marie for the Snowflake. It's lovely and it was the perfect quilt for January. I am still in "blue and white mode" at my cutting table but seeing the peeks of red and white make me think I best clear out the blues and replace it with reds. :-) I look forward to reading the "behind the seams". I always love the stories that everyone shares. And what will I be pouring my heart out on?...projects for two retreats (one is mine, the other sponsored by a shop) and a shop hop project and some hearts and plaids fun with my daughter. :-) Never bored!

  34. I'm looking forward to the four-day weekend I have coming up. I'm a teacher and our school district is combining Lincoln's Birthday and President's Day into a four-day weekend. I've been working so hard on my Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt that I haven't done much else.

I have a neighbor across the street. She's a cheerful, funny lady. Over six months ago she got laid off. Then she's been having health issues with her feet and legs. First they found she was Vitamin B12 deficient, but there was still more. A few weeks ago the diagnosis came in; she has Multiple Sclerosis. She's in her early 30's and this is devastating news. But she is taking it in stride and making lots of jokes.

So on the four-day weekend I am going to make her a quilt. It's a strip quilt that I found in the book Scrap-Basket Surprises. It's a cheerful one, like her and in her favorite color, purple.

  77. You received 3,218 quilts for February banner? That's awesome and... amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Ahha! The explanation of the banner. As a new follower I now "get it".

i will be pouring my heart into being open. Open to my new job and all around me. Open to hearing God's desire for me there and His instructions as to how I am to relax and refuel for a job that He has prepared for me. I believe all the un-nesting I did just before getting this job was so I'd be able to go and find solace, comfort and brain time away from "work" in my quilting creativeness once again.

Thank you for all the time you put into so very many things for this blog. WOW! I am in awe.

denise/deBrat hoping to dig up some color entries for the different months too. :)

I always look forward to your banners. They're really wonderful and creative. I love meeting the bloggers behind them too.

Hopefully February will bring me more time to quilt, knit, and stitch. I'd like to see progress on several WIPs that I worked on all last year and then got a bit behind. Time at my sewing machine really centers me so I hope that I find more of that next month! Now I need to really sit down and think about HOW I'm going to find that much needed time. :)

I'd love to be entered into your generous give away.

I would love to be entered into your draw!

For the month of Febuary I hope to sink my heart into a southwest quilt for my friend. I'm trying to pin point how I want to make it. I have sooo many idea's. How to fit it into one quilt. This could take me the rest of the year.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I can't wait to see how you have arranged the new banner, but I guess I will have to. I will be pouring my heart into our retreat, writing a quilt pattern and making another sample of my quilt for April's class, and last, but not least, getting ready to take some classes from Gwen Marston. Wow! that's a lot and that doesn't even contain what needs to be done for work or home.

  167. I'm pouring my love into a lap-sized calendar quilt for my daughter. I had intended to finish it for a Christmas present, but she's very particular, and has to approve every step of the way, so it's been slow going. She lives an hour away, so we can only get together every once in a while. I've almost got the 12 blocks completed, and just have to finish up the embellishments (which has taken my daughter as long to "approve" as the fabric selection took). Since it didn't get finished in time for Christmas, I'm now making her birthday (March 25th) my new goal. Not sure I'll be finished by then either. Wish me luck. dmj53(at)hotmail(dot)com

  168. I love looking at the new banners.
What I'm pouring my heart into isn't a quilt but it is sewing. UniDD wants me to make her Graduation dress and it has boning in it, which I've never done before, so that will be a challenge. I offered to have it made for her in the material we've already purchased but she said it wouldn't be the same. With that faith and confidence supporting me I know I'll do my best.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Can't wait to see the new banner! Now I have to work on something green to submit. I will be pouring my heart into my daughter this month since this is my last month of maternity leave! Thanks for the giveaway!

Their auction isn't until April but I want to get it done early. Also I'll be playing around making scrap blocks and hoping to get to working on a quilt made with the twister tool....that's the plan for the month...whew!!

After 2 whole months I am finally able to say that I am interested in sewing again - I pulled a bunch of FQ's from my stash yesterday, got them all washed, decided on a pattern and I hope to work just a little bit every night on some little baby boy quilts. It feels soooo good to feel this way again - I've had some dark and depressing moments and it really is wonderful to see the light again.
